For those unfamiliar with Mooresville legion, this my friends is a team that had all the pieces especially with Lake Norman HS winning the state 3A title; however, they struggled for much of the regular season I guess finding their roles. They were once 5-8 and on the verge of missing the playoffs completely, and they have simply peaked and played their best ball since about July 1. They are not only talented, but very classy and well-coached. I'm happy for them.

    Congrats.

Big story of the night for Rowan, is that Billy Veal is still pitching in 9th inning. They needed that.

    Rowan still up 6-2.

As for top 9th, Cherryville gets leadoff man on 1b with hit, 2nd batter walks. Runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs. Pitching change, Cody Laws now pitching for Rowan. Next batter FC 3-6, runners on 1st and 3rd, 1 out. Watts batting, F7, 2 outs. Drewery batting, F8, 3rd out.

Final Score: Rowan Co- 6, Cherryville- 2

Great game, I expect to hear more about Cherryville in this tourney, but congrats to Rowan, they came to play tonight.

    See brackets on page 1.
