    Pitching

Corey Randle from Davie County? pitched a great game for the Heat on Sunday against the Richmond Braves Americans.

Tip of the cap to Ty Bissette for assembling a group of guys ready to play. I know the kids from Rocky Mount were Parker Helms, Michael Whitehead, Thomas and Matthew Berry. Karlrocket's son, Mitchell Wheeler from Wilson Fike and several others. Maybe Karl can help me out here. Great job guys.

    A Great Three Days

This tournament marked the end of my son's summer baseball and what a wonderful weekend it was. I got to see many outstanding ball players over the last three days and enjoyed watching them all. I wish I was better with names, so someone please help me out.

#44 for the Golden Spikes can hit for a ton! The ball absolutely jumps off his bat.

Olen Little (CBC) can pitch against anyone. Give this kid some run support and he would never be beaten.

The Canes (North & South) teams are loaded. They all can hit and the LHP (Cave?) throws gas!

2010 Panthers are tuff. Holberton is solid, behind the dish and at the plate. Semeniuk kept us from putting hits together, he was the one pitcher all weekend that practically refused to let us score.

The Wilson Bulldogs battled the Panthers in the Championship. It really looked like both teams were a little fatigued going into their third game on a HOT Columbia afternoon. The Panthers just had a few more breaks go their way, but both teams played hard.

What a way to finish Summer ball and my son’s prep career. Thanks to all the teams, over the last three years, that have allowed me to watch some of the best baseball I have ever witnessed at any level. The pleasure has truly been all mine. Most of all; Thanks to the 2009 Panthers for the memories that will last me a lifetime. What a run, what a ride. God Bless you all!

    Wilson Bulldogs: 2nd In Columbia!

There is always some apprehension involved when putting together a team at the last minute, & playing together for the first time. The Wilson Bulldogs were asked to step in & fill a spot in the 18U Columbia Tournament when a team dropped out at the beginning of the week. Our goal was to be competitive in the tourney with a field that included a who's who of strong showcase programs: Canes, Panthers, Heat, MegaStars, On Deck O's, CBC, & others were all there. No weak programs in the field. We battled hard from start to finish & ended up in the championship against a very strong SC Panthers 09 team. Hats off to the Panthers for taking the crown. Ty Bissett did assemble a very good team in a short time frame & he does a great job motivating his teams to play hard. Everyone on the Bulldog roster contributed to a great weekend:

    Parker Helms: Rocky Mount 2010
    Mitchell Wheeler: Wilson Fike 2010
    Thomas Berry: Rocky Mount 2011
    Ches Lamm: Wilson Hunt 2011
    Michael Whitehead: Rocky Mount 2010
    Kyle Pittman: Wilson Hunt 2010
    Matthew Berry: Rocky Mount 2011
Drew Woodall: Headed to Charleston Southern
Zach Bissett: Headed to Lynchburg College
    Cody Heath: Kinston 2010
    Steve Mckinney: Cary 2010
    James Pierce: D.H. Conley 2011
    Sean Willingham: United Methodist 2009
    Jeremy Lucas: Northern Nash 2011
    Blair Betts: Athens Drive 2010

The team really enjoyed playing in Carolina Stadium, which is a first-class, state of the art, college baseball facility! Great experience for the team!

    Anyone want to go back?

We (16U Lake Monsters) are going there this weekend for Impact 16U World Series. We have several players injured, on vacation or playing football, etc. We have a large roster (18 - 20) but believe it or not only have 10 available for Friday game. I could really use a strong catcher or a pitcher (or middle infielder) to back fill one of my other guys moving behind the plate. We have a good team but we are just missing some parts this weekend. Finished in final four this past weekend at ACPB 16U World Series. If interested or know of quality / deserving player send me a PM.
