Most people here know I am not the biggest fan of showcase although one son has played it and my second will also. However I see it's value and see it as a good thing. More kids getting the opportunity to further their baseball life. What can be bad about that? Even college coaches don't think it's perfect but it works well for them.

You may not like everything about AP but he does a lot of good things for kids. He has almost created a cottage industry in all the teams starting up to either compete or imitate his program. AP furthers the baseball opportunities for kids. Sounds good to me. If he makes a living at it, more power to him. That just means he helps kids and himself by doing something he loves and being able to put food on his table while doing it.

AP is not perfect. No one is. But he has done some good things for kids. I always heard that imitation was a highest form of compliment. If that is true AP has his share of compliments.

    Fantastic Championship Game Today

North Canes (6-0) defeat the Central Canes (4-2) by a score of 2-1 in a perfectly played game. Shane Johnsonbaugh outdueled Dylan Raymond as both pitchers went the distance. Matt Campbell had the first rbi hit and Christian Younce singled and scored the winning run for the North Canes.

Green Wave and Nova Patriots both made it to the final four in the 12 Dynamic Baseball 15u World Series.

Notes: Zach Cooper from South Granville and Spiers Miller from Tarboro impressed on the mound and 14 yr old Max Schrock of Raleigh is the best middle infield player and left handed stick I have seen at his age in the last 10 years.

I heard one claim this summer that he is the best middle infielder to come out of NC since Brian Roberts, and at this age he is better than Roberts was.

Schrock can flat out play the game.
