During my son's Junior year he was having a pretty good season. Coach Bagwell had spoken to several colleges about my son's abilities. We learned of this when the July 1st deadline past and the college coaches began talking directly to my son. I realize it is not unusual for high school coaches to talk to college coaches about players. But my son did not play for Coach Bagwell's Ardrey Kell team; he played for Butler, a SW4A opponent of Coach Bagwell. And although I have never met Hal Bagwell, I am greatly appreciative of the efforts he made in helping my son continue his dream of playing college baseball.

    Thank you Coach Bagwell

Thanks Nick for the story. It's something that most people don't know. Coach Bagwell has done this for many players that did not play for him. Most of the time, those players and their families will never know that he did.

Braves - that was a great interview!

Now that I have the luxury of looking back over the last 6 years or so - I feel very good about being able to say that my youngest son had the opportunity to play baseball in his formative years in the Charlotte area.

His experience at On-Deck was something that we will never forget. Great baseball people for sure - but more importantly - great people period.

I hope that noone takes for granted the quality of coaching we have in this area. It really is something special. I just which my eldest son could have played here when he was younger also.

Hope all is well with you and yours!
    Best regards - Paul

Hey Paul- It's always a pleasant surprise to hear from you. I was asking Matt Pope about how you were doing, but you know Matt, if he doesn't see you on the lake fishing, he won't see you.
