Turns 17 in October. Named All State this past year in school ball, her sophomore year. Has been All Conference both her freshman and sophomore years.Led her travel team in RBI's this summer, with only one strike out. Very good defensive third baseman and can also play 1st and corner outfield positions, she has played center and RF in high school.

Looking for a team in central NC as we live just west of Raleigh, but willing to go where the best opportunity is.

She very much wants to play for a quality coach and organization that understands both the game and the recruiting process, and has their players best interest as a guiding force. She had been led to believe that she would be playing for her former organization's 18u team for the past several months, but was just notified by email that they didn't need her as they have brought in some new players.

Yes, I'm a bit P.O.ed.... but as I tell my kids, it's not where you are, it's where you're going that matters. I'm just amazed that an organization like the Flames would do something like this. Live and learn...

Pie in the face, maybe. Best thing to ever happen playing wise in the future, maybe.

S*%t happens and we have to deal with it.
Just today I heard Bernie Kosar talking about his time at U of Miami and the one thing that stood out was when he said that Michael Irving sat on the sidelines watching other WRs play in front of him in college. When MI got his turn he obviously made the best of it.

As for where to place your kid, well I'm not gonna post anything with all due respect to all of our fastpitch orgs., but if you'll PM me, I'll sing like a bird.

    Do your homework

People need to do their homework before joining organizations. The one that was mentioned has always been known for bringing in players during the year and sitting the players that has been with the team on the bench just to win ballgames. Showcase tournaments are for getting players recruited not just winning ballgames and bringing in kids that are already playing in college don't help the players that are trying to get to college.

    Not easy

It is not like we make these decisions lightly. These are some of the most difficult decisions we have to make as coaches. Also, it was stated at the very beginning and more than once that we would hold a completely open tryout, and that included the girls that had been with the organization. Again, we do not enjoy making these kinds of decisions. We obviously wish the best for every young lady that tried out with us.

    Never Fear

    One strikeout - WOW!

I do not know the circumstances but it sounds like the cut was not the big deal - the "led to believe" was the big deal. Maybe a misunderstanding - maybe not!

If I received an e-mail as a returning player to the organization, I would be very upset also.

Never fear - with those kind of accomplishments and stats, she will find a good team very quickly!

    Oh my

Is she looking for showcase or just 18U??.........

Had the same thing happen to my 9 yr old. Got cut by e-mail. It was the best thing that could have happened. Yes, the grass is greener on the other side and sure does taste real good too.

preferably showcase, she very much wants to play college ball. Her goal is to play at an in-state school where both her athletic and academic accomplishments can be rewarded.

    This is a FACT

This same thing happened to my dd with one of the younger teams (same organization). It was a real shi#% thing for a "Coach" to do.
