    Well, we have to let them have one every now and then so they'll keep playing us.

    But all kidding aside, congratulations to South Rowan. They did what they needed to do to get the win. K-town had a chance to win at the very end with a 30 + yd. field goal, but it really never had a chance. Really not a well played game by either team. Lot's of penalities and turnovers. But I'm very proud of the young WONDER kids. They hung in there and gave the team a chance at the end. You can't ask for more than that!

    Very impressed with South QB Blake Houston. I believe he was the difference in the game. We never could figure him out.

    1st quarter
    K-town scored first on a 35 yd. TD pass from QB Tyler Gilmore to TE Spencer Falls.
    PAT good...score 7-0 K

    South came right back and scored on a broken play with the Raider receiver getting behind the WONDER coverage completing 55 yd. TD play.
    PAT good...score 7-7

    Still in the first, South Rowan scored on a 27 yd. pass play.
    PAT...score S 14-K 7

    2nd quarter no score.

    3rd quarter
    South scored from the 1 yd. line making the score after PAT...S 21- K7

    WONDER RB Travis Riley scored on a 42 yd. TD run. PAT no good...score S 21- K 13

    4th quarter
    Travis Riley scored his second TD of the night on a great second effort from the 1 yd. line. K-town went for 2 points, but didn't make it.
    score...S 21- K 19

    Then came the late field goal try by K-town, but it was short.

    Final Score S 21- K 19

    Game played Saturday night:

    Alexander Central 14 (2-0)
    West Iredell 7 (1-1)


    Cougars get over 100 yards from both Kyle Bradshaw and Kyle Kinnaird. Bradshaw's score from 9 yards with less than 2 minutes wins it for Alexander Central. Cougars are 2-0 and host South Iredell next Friday. Just a little tidbit, West Iredell is loaded with talent. They are very young and will get better each week.
