got to the park today at 7:30am, left at 7pm, played 2 games at 8:30am and at 5:15pm

1 pool game? Lose 5-4 and go to B bracket?? the weather was fine today, 2nd pool games should never of been cancelled

too many teams, not enough fields, horrible parking, lazy umps with major attitudes, slow play, nasty restrooms

scratch Locust off the list, $250 is better spent somewhere else :urfired:

    I live near Locust park

Your right. Our team played in a NSA tourney March 2008 in Locust and we have not been back. It was not a total disaster back then. But, Locust should have learned a few things. Locust park is good for smaller tourneys but not for 30 teams and 3 age groups.

Yes, 4 fields, 2 bathrooms and 30 ball teams and parents ..... Stanfield Park has 2 more fields with all the extra facilities. 2 miles from Locust. Well what else can be said.

    AAU In Locust

    Hey Guys,

This is Robin with AAU. I heard we had a few problems this past weekend in Locust and I just wanted to apologize and assure everyone that the next event will be very different. We have addressed the bathroom issues as well as the number of teams that can play comfortably on 4 fields without having to play early morning and late at night. This was the first time that Locust has had more the 1 age group at a time and things got a little complicated. We all have made mistakes and hopefully we will learn from them and do our very best to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Thanks for understanding and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Sounds like at least a partial refund would be an appropriate gesture.

thats cool. The Concord tournys are great.

I would also suggest if a coach wants to discuss an umpiring issue, that the director of the tourny or head ump listen and not slough it off postgame. Umps are supposed to defuse situations, not be the agitator. The 2 umps who worked together (tall black man, and masculine looking female) should not be allowed back. If you are not aware who I am talking about, I can probably find some photos from this weekend and post their pics.

Many times the coach knows more about the game than the ump (clear throat)....

Aren't you still getting used to a yellow ball?

But I agree, I suspect that Metro knows the rules better than most....and certainly the game.

base path interference is base bath interference. You can't stand with your arms folded on a base in travel softball or MLB :acclaim:

    Recipe For A Well-Run Tourney!

    1. Clean bathrooms!
    2. 4 fields, 2 bathrooms!
    3. Plenty of toilet tissue in ladies restrooms (Women get really mad about no tissue in restrooms!) Am I right, Ladies?
    4. Spicey mustard in concession stand.
    5. Amble parking!
    6. Keep games on schedule!
    7. Have energetic umps that know all the words to our favorite "Brady Bunch" tunes! (No attitudes)
    8. Sell Diet Mountain Dew in concession stand.
    9. Have somebody ready for quick field maintenance between games. ( 10 minutes, tops)
    10. Did I mention that the restrooms need to be spotless?
