If anyone in the Raleigh area would like to watch next time MB pitches, there's a sports bar on Avent Ferry Rd., near Western Blvd. (Sammy's???) that can get any MLB game and will set up a speaker at your table so you can listen to the "talking heads" as you watch the game on a big screen.

It's amazing to think it was just two years ago Madison was striking out HS hitters and now he is striking out the cream of the crop. If you look at both pictures, there is no physical difference

I would love to hear Kevin describe his feelings as well as Madison's. Braves-Why don't you give Kevin a shout for a report, since we are all living our dreams vicariously through Madiso/Kevin.

I'd love to, but he won't do it. He thinks it's bragging (although it's not). If more people posted wanting Kevin to respond, I think he will...at least I'll ask him to.

I hope he will talk to us. I don't know him, or anyone else from out that way, but I have an interest in seeing a kid from this part of the state succeed.

As far as bragging? Nah, it wouldn't be close to it. Just tonight on the Mets broadcast they interviewed the Dad of a kid (Josh Thole) they just brought up. There was no bragging, just a Dad who had spent endless hours helping his son reach his goal, enjoying the moment.

For baseball addicts, the MLB cable package is a must-do. Costs about $175 a season (which is about 1 trip to Turner Stadium with the family). But you get every game (minus the black-outs, which for some reason in Winston Salem is Cincinnati, Washington and Baltimore).

I accidentally caught all of Madison's debut because I had a vested $$ interest in it. I expected Lincecum, but was semi-thrilled to see the Kid ('semi' because of the vested interest).

The SF announcers slobbered all over Madison. They blabbered on about his hitting prowess too. I loved the dugout reaction to his left field shot. You could tell the team all were very impressed and enjoying the moment.

My favorite moment: After both bombs, the Kid just asked for the ball, toed the rubber, and went back to work. No surprise, but he's strong between the ears and in the chest. Once MB develops a consistently nasty off-speed, he'll elevate the Giants to odds-on-favorites with a pitching staff that's off the charts.

We Would love to hear kevin's inside perspective

This is one more vote for Kevin to let us know how this all unfolded and what the emotions have been like for Madison & Kevin & the family. Anyone who knows Kevin (I barely do thru his umpiring) knows he is humble...and we would appreciate his perspective as we know they are living an ultimate dream for most baseballing families and it is a dream that we know most will never attain, but the journey is still great. I imagine it would be one of the all-time most read threads on TBR (Prep baseball) if Braves would interview Kevin and get the inside view. I'm sure most TBR regulars repsect and admire the Bumgarners and getting Kevin's thoughts would just allow all of us to share the excitement a little more.

    Thanks!
