AC vs Foard

Wise just nailed it on the head so to speak. They are the best TRUE teams i've seen at alexander central in a long time. This team is very mature and has learned early that you cannot overlook anyone. They are a very good ball control team and they love to run the ball down peoples throats. Their defense is a true unit all around. they get to the football and play great technique. As far as the playoffs go and the hickory game, well we'll worry about that when the time comes but right now lets just gope these guys take care of foard.

 

What to watch for

1-With one of the best rb's (Owens) around, will he get plays called for
him and touch the ball 20-30 times.
2- Can AC stop him if the above happens.

Hope it is not another loooong night at tigertown.

 

The way to give AC trouble is to mix it up and throw some on first down. They are great at stuffing the run between the tackles. The key is not to be forced to throw against the Cougars on 3rd and long, Blake Baker is an absolute beast at rushing the qb. Nobody has really exploited the Cougar secondary except West Iredell who was getting some nice things done until a late pick. Bottom line, I don't think Foard can win trying to beat Alexander Central by running it 9 out of every 10 plays. Beware of Anderson and Markham, they are a couple headhunters at LB and they like to make it hurt when they make a tackle.

 

P.S.
This is Patton's 2ND year of varsity competition. It is the third year that the school has been open and the first year was jv only. Draughn is the other new high school in the area and this is their 1ST year of varsity competition.

That games over, Fred T. Foard is our main focus and we got it zeroed in and we'll be dead on at 100 yds.

AC's pride

Well AC even just few short years ago when I played there.. we always showed up to hit. Whether we won or lost you knew you were going to be in a dog fight and we were going to pop you in the mouth. That's always been the way Harper and AC have been. Whether we win or lose, we will put our best foot forward and after its said and done the other team can't say that they walked over us, but that they had to earn it. I think Foard will be good opponent for AC.. Every team has a chance to win especially in high school and in the great team game of football. Everyone must do their job on every play or else the play won't work. I say AC will win by 2 TDs.
