    The Blue Devils jumped all over the Lions and led 31-13 at the half, but just like so many times before, gave it all back in a matter of minutes. WC returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown, then returned an interception for another, and found themselves down by only 5 with four and a half minutes gone in the third quarter.

    New ball game.

    WC took the lead shortly thereafter, but Mooresville manged to grab it back in the fourth quarter, and led 38-34 with about 7 minutes left. WC punched in the game winner on their next series and stopped Mooresville on downs at mid-field to end the game.

    Mooresville falls to 0-7 on the year with a trip to Hopewell next Friday.

    I need a beer.

    anyone know why bradshaw for alexander didnt play in the sec. half?

    Watauga 21 (must have gotten a late TD as i left with about 8 min left in the game)


    Backup QB Isabell- well- they didn't miss a beat with him in the game and he threw at least 1 passing TD and had two running TDs for over 40 yds.

    It was a crazy game. AC stormed out front 21-0 before the 6 minute mark of the 1st quarter thanks to 3 straight Hickory turnovers. Hickory in the 3rd quarter pulls to within 21-20 and have the ball inside the Alexander Central 25but the Cougars hold and run out the last 5 minutes. Hickory makes a lot of mistakes but tonight so did the Cougars. I don't think either team played their best but it was a good one. An absolute great atmosphere in Taylorsville all season but tonight was a loony bin. Cougar fans love their team. AC now 7-0 and 9-0 going back to final two games of 2008. Believe it or not it's the 4th longest active winning streak in the state. Going into tonight only Reidsville, Mt Airy, and West Rowan had longer current winning streaks.
