It is a crazy world. I know a girl who spent more over the summer travelling to the "big" tournaments than a years tuition would cost her at the college she signed with 30 minutes from home. The coach who signed her saw her at at a high school playoff game.

I'm not real educated on this subject so have a couple questions. How many girls do girls you know of that traveled way off out of state and got a schalorship they otherwise wouldn't have gotten? I think going somewhere like boulder is more for the experience than it is getting a schalorship. I do know that any talented girl that wants to play in college can find one that wants her. Just have to do a little home work and let them know your intrested. Can't pick and choose but find a couple that need you and your in

    Well RTPal????....

.....I guess sometimes as hard as one tries to make sense in a polite way, BAM!, it goes south before you get done with supper.

I know, I know that you're cool with the bigtime differences in opinions on TBR, and BTW, without those opinions we'd all be "yes men".

I can pick apart every post on this thread as I'm sure alot of others can do as well.

BUT, after looking over the "whats a negative post to one, is a positive post to another"......it hit me, yep the realization that everything being posted on this thread is the truth!

Do you have to go to Col. to get a chance to play ball, say for example, UNCG?

    No.

Can playing ball in Col. improve your standing in the UNCG coaches eyes?

    Yes.

Last, and I'm done with this thread.......If WE, all of us in NC don't stop slinging snot at eachother, we'll never have a "Boulder" tourn.

Start by embracing the folks who are trying to make a difference.
They're doing they're part. Parents and kids need to do the same.

    Now I'm done.

It's the mentors of the game - such as yourself and the other fine people on this board that will make it happen... eventually.
Perfect summary to a complicated issue. Well said.

I 100% percent agree with Rodney about going to New Jersey & Boulder. My DD is a new player on The Lady Blues this fall. I honestly did not know what to think of the upcoming New Jersey Tournament. But trust me if you can go, please make every attempt to do so.

After going to New Jersey DD has had 5 D1 teams contact her. 2 of the teams had never responded to any earlier sent emails. 2 teams noticed her in New Jersey without any prior contact from DD.

Being in New Jersey and playing against gold teams every game has given her experience & a new confidence that can't ever be replaced.

Nothing is guaranteed, but she is now going on 2 out of state visits in November that would have never happened without the exposure at the New Jersey Tournament.

    Looking forward to Boulder!

    one more thing...

If I were a DI/DII coach, would I want to spend my valuable recruiting money to go to Colorado (or any other place) to look at a kid that I can see in my own backyard? Now if I go there and a local kid just happens to be there, OK. But I'm not going to go there specifically just to see a local kid. If I'm that good of a coach I should be able to tell if a kid can play at the next level. I'm a coach travelling that distance I'm looking for something specific that I can not get at home.

    Very Impressive List...

...but if I'm the coach from Yale do you think I could find a really good pitcher from out west and offer her a killer Ivy League education to come play for me, that I can not get at home?

    True Love

When you have a player who will do that, you truly have a player who loves the game and will play at any cost. Glad to see her dream came true.
