im not real sure how the new conference is going to work with the seeding for the playoffs. If a 4a team finishes first and a 3a team second, or vice versa, how does that work for playoff seeding ? does both teams technically get a 1st place for their conference since they're in 2 separate divisions or does the 2nd place team still end up as being seeded as a regular 2nd place team ? just wondering how this works with the new conference

I think if you "win" your portion of the conference you get a 1 seed (so you can be seeded 1-4).....from looking at projections AC is expected to win the 4a and they will draw a 4 seed....(Conferences also have "power rankings") If HHS wins the 3a (as projected) they will get a 2 seed.

    Make a difference?

Would it change much in seeding if AC went 10-0 and Hibriten finished 9-1 or would it be like mentioned before due to AC finishing 1st of the 4As and Hibriten 1st of the 3As that it'd be the same?

realistically it does not matter 1 or 4 seed (which they are all 1 seeds) they are going to play the team that is geographically closest to them. If HHS loses they may get a 2 or 3 seed but they will still play FTF- IMO.

The overall record only affects how you are seeded within your tier of teams in the playoff bracket. For example if AC somehow ran the table, they have as equal a shot of getting a #1 seed compared to the other 4A teams in the West Region. Even if they finish 9-1, they still are getting a high seed because of being the best team in the 4A part of the NW3A/4A, but they can't jump over a team like Dudley or RJ Reynolds that may finish at 10-0.

Big Dan has got it on the nose. The game between Alexander Central and Watauga is for all intents and purposes for the # 1 4A seed from the NWC. Let's say Watauga pulls the upset, they and the Cougars are dead even in league play but Watauga owns the tie-breaker. Watauga has Hickory and St Stephens left on the schedule, they could win both or likely split losing to Hickory. Alexander Central has South Caldwell and Hibriten remaining with the experts saying they beat S Caldwell and lose to Hibriten. Either way it's going to be fun to watch. If AC beats Watauga and S Caldwell and Hibriten takes care of business, wow what a game in Taylorsville on November 6th !!!

Yea...if AC gets the 4 seed...they would have two home playoff games...the second more than likely coming against ACR...
