Rachel Harris long time Lady Blue verbally committed to Wellesley University today after considering several Ivy League schools for softball and educational purposes.
Rachel had a great HS career and was with the Blues from 14U (John Fagala) through this summer playing every OF position. Last summer Rachel threw a runner out at the plate from deep RF at Boulder and this year she made two diving catches and contributed to a couple big wins. The Wellesley Coach was the first to grab Rachel after our last game and has been in constant contact since July 4. Rachel will make an impact at this fine school on the field and in the classroom. My third kid to head north in 6 years but this one is going far North! Best of luck Rachel, we know you will be a major contributor to the softball team immediately.

"Wellesley is not just the best women's college in the nation- it's one of the best colleges in the nation period". FISK GUIDE TO COLLEGES

-ranked as the 4th best liberal arts school in the country by US NEWS & WORLD REPORT

    - ranked as the 6th best college overall just behind Harvard by FORBES

    - the softball program has made the NCAA tournament two out of the last three years

    - the softball team has also never won fewer than 20 games in a season and as many as 30 since its inception.

Good for her. It's a great academic institution. They build leaders. If I am not mistaken its the alma mater of Hillary Clinton, Madeline Albright, Diane Sawyer, Lee kai-Shek (wife of Chang), and Janet Hill (Grant Hills Mom).

    Should be a great experience

    Could not be prouder...

Rach is one of the finest, most upstanding, dedicated kids, softball or no softball, that I have ever been around. She is goal oriented and knows the value of hard work.

    Rodney,
Thank you for finishing the job and getting her placed. She could not have done it without you!! You continue to be a huge blessing to all of these kids that you support.

    Todd and Rach (and mom),
I have enjoyed the time we were together and our continuing relationship with you. You remind me everytime I get an email or a text from you that hard work and commitment are NOT dead in today's kids.

I know there were bumps along the way, but you better not foget me!!!

You owe me a piece of CHOCOLATE :1luvu: cake at your signing party!!!!

    Caroline says congrats too!!

Life is bigger than just softball as you can tell by my quote of a great academic institution that builds LEADERS, but to answer your question, yes she played softball, tennis, and volleyball. Not that it matters but you did ask.
