Composite Bats

We have in the bat bag. Green Easton Stealth and an old aluminum for those cold weather days. Working good right now.

 

Have to agree.My DD uses the CF4 very good bat.

My DD loves her CF4. She used one in the World and had to have one. Great bat hot right out of the wrapper.

 

My DD has a 2008 DeMarini Phenix (Fall 2007) that has been the workhorse for two tears. That bat has been through thousands of batting cage balls and games and still pounds away at them. Got a 2009 Mizuno Frenzy. Very Hot. Probably going to have to retire the Phenix and upgrade to a 2009 CF3 or the new 2010 CF4. Awesome bats.

 

The NCAA has put a moratorium on all composite baseball bats. This came about when something like 85% of the composites tested at the CWS failed the exit speed tests, therefor making them illegal. Though not really proven, it appeared that some teams had "allegedly" had bats that had been tampered with to make them perform at the higher rates.

Could softball bats be far behind? I think when we say a bat has been "broken in", what is really happening is the bat is now performing in a manner above it's stated, and tested, certification.

It will be interesting to see if high school baseball follows the NCAA lead and if softball does the same.

 

What happened with ASA last year is that bats must now pass the certification tests after being broken in. That's why so many composite bats models exited the market last year and were replaced with not as hot bats.

Bats are manufactured along the same standards. Find one that she feels good about. It doesn't have to be the most expensive.

There is also a lot of truth in the saying "you can't buy a swing!".
