I copied this message from another board. One of the organizers is a father of one of my Angels and they are dead serious on getting a team moved to Atlanta. I just feel having a team in the region would be huge. If you feel as I do, please help show your support by following the instructions below.

    Folks,

I usually don't get on and ask for help but in this case I believe this could dramatically impact our great sport of Fastpitch softball. It is official that an agreement is being worked to bring a Pro team to the Atlanta area with a great venue. A team from the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league will be coming if everything works out. Here is how we need everyone's help. Please go to: http://www.eteamz.com/dynastyfastpitch2/ and participate in the survey and sign the guestbook. What needs to happen very quickly is the the National Pro Fastpitch, who is also part of Major League Baseball, needs to see that Atlanta is serious about a team. I have more details that I would be glad to share with you if you want to email me at [email protected] or you can email Preston Delashmit at: [email protected].

If you know of anyone interested in sponsoring the team, this would also be good to know in the guestbook or send them to myself or Preston. There is already a sponsorhip plan prepared and ready to share with potential sponsors.

    find your own

If you got the money, go for it. Right now this group has stepped up and is trying to bring 1 team. I am sure there are millionaires in other areas of the South that could do that is well. But for now, let's work to get 1.

Atlanta would be a great starting point. I am sure if it works there it will spread throughout the southeast. No reason Florida, both Carolina's and maybe even Virginia/D.C. area could not support teams. It would give many families a great alternative for vacation. I think it would be cool to see one in the Myrtle Beach area. Give vacationing folks another option for nights. Oh yeah, I only live about 35 minutes from there.:woohoo:

    $$$

There are some teams up North for sure. Would this be a type of team that a girl can make living off of. Single A and AA baseball players only make min of 40-50k to play BB for maybe 120 games. One of the girls from Carolina Tar heels played this past summer but is now back working at UNC as and asst coach.. There would be some more opportunities for more to play. But the level of play will need to be almost off the chart from what we are used to around here. It would almost need to be Olympic team type quality. The Univ of Fla or Univ of Wash teams were good this past WS. But this will need to be way better than that to compete for attendance with even some minor league BB. Which would you rather go see on a regular basic in Atlanta, the Braves or a pro Fast-pitch team or in Charlotte the Knights or fastpitch ball?. Remember the WNBA in Charlotte and Atlanta only lasted for a while. Minor league BB works on a regional system with major league help. Would take a lot of $$$$$$ to put it all together and keep it working for a min of 3 yrs just to start. A TV contract would be a start.........
