    time limits

I do not like time limits, but somebody put them out there. I do not make the rules, I just go by them. So if I am in an event and there is a time limit it is my job to help my girls win the game and to utilize all of my god given talents to help them do that. That is why they play for me. So I utilize every available option to help secure our advancement without breaking any rules. But I am not a hypocrite. So when things are done slowly by the other team, I have to bite my tongue. BUT if I or the other teams does things that are deemed stalling and against the rules, I will let it be known and I expect the umpire to enforce the rules.

Remember, I am an ole football coach at heart.

.....OK Treck, you make a very good point here brother. In the , up 5-1 in the 6th with a runner on 2B gig, I'd want my outfielders to throw a BeeBee to the plate as well.

Hey, check this out, showcase or not, we would tell our kids in the outfield, hell for that matter all of our kids, to practice in pregame like you're gonna play in the game. IE, an outfielder might not get the chance to show off her talented arm if no balls come her way.

Pregame food for thought.......a bad attitude or parking lot BS going on by a recruit before a game that is witnessed by the college coach will trump that "cannon" of an arm quick.

    It's The Young Mindset Treck..

I'm with you it's about showcasing not winning, and you have to realize the majority of these individuals that keep bringing up winning have played very little showcase ball. Half of them probably don't even realize there isn't any awards at the end, so what does winning promote. There are no 1st ,2nd, 3rd place trophies. It's about the girls being seen, and possible being recruited by colleges. It's like a stage setting showing off your wares to a possible buyer. When you start playing next level ball then it's back to winning.....

    Thanks Guru

Unfortunately too many with this mind set don't realize it until it is too late. I have 3 2010 on my team now with a shelf full of trophies and no offers all because of this mindset. And they can play too.

Actually Mine Are In Boxes !!

I got tired of listening to my wife about dusting them off. It would take me 2 hours to dust those stinking trophies , so I put them in boxes outside in the shed. It was fun winning them, but the diploma is going to be the grand prize one day...

All jokes aside, maybe Comet or Braves can find it in the archives and bump it to the front.

    thanks folks

fish buddy, i couldnt find it directly, but i remember that thread. let me share our experience: we have a front show room in the embroidery shop, upper shelves all around this 14 x 28 room. my wife decided to donate these 40+ trophies to our local school system. it went over well with some of the 3' trophies now in local school trophy cases with different name plates on them. my daughters favorite trophies that she kept for her keep sake items were small and reminded her of the special events she experienced. since then we have removed three boxes of plaques from the attic and donated them also. i like the trophies when they were young, but wished they would of given something like $100.00 scholarships for the top team players instead. it would of really helped when you're facing 23k college payments for four years.

just my opinion, maybe someone will get the hint.....

    money making idea

Got to be a market for recycled trophies. Maybe have an invitational tournament where you get to keep the plate, but hand in the trophy at the gate for a free entry. Then the TD could just have new plates and put them on and hand them back at the end. What do you think?
