Hayley Whitley Commits - Charlotte Cobras

Hayley Whitley verbally committed Saturday to Wingate University's Softball Program and Coach Caddigan. Hayley will sign her NLI this week. Hayley has been pursued by some very quality universities and ultimately was able to be properly rewarded for athletics and academics by Wingate while still pursuing her major in Music with a concentration on Therapy with a future in helping others. Hayley has served as lead-off for us most of the year doing an excellent job "setting the tone" for our offense. Hayley has been a consistent player for us being steady at both second base and the outfield. Hayley is quite the utility player and can compete almost anywhere on the field. Hayley's accomplishments off the field are equally impressive as her on the field success. Hayley is truly a morally grounded young woman that understands what it means to serve others before serving herself.

We are very proud of Hayley and excited for the Whitley Family! Tooter and Claudia you guys have laid some wonderful groundwork for your children and they certainly are leaders in their own ways.

Have never met a finer kid

When Toot and I started coaching the Blues, there was always one constant.

It was Haybug showing up for practice or games with a smile on her face and a open place in her heart for any kid that was with us, visiting player or teamate.

I saw her this saturday teaching elem and middle school students how to shoot free throws at Piedmont High school camp. It has always been about serving and putting others before herself. Coach was dead on when she pointed that out in the first post.

Hay,
You have been an inspiration and a guiding light for kids, parents, and coaches. Please don't ever change and know that Coach C is gonna bust on you just like your pops, maybe not quite as bad, but if she does, it is to make you better and get the most out of yourself so when you look back in 4,10, even 20 years, you will know you left nothing there, but gave her everything you had.

Congrats on what you have done so far, but we have work to do in high school this spring at PHS.

I love you and your family more than you will ever know.

Yea inside that sweet little girl that can sing with the best is an athlete that can play with the rest of them. Toot you ole fart you did well along with Claudia thus far in raising Hayley. Now it's on to the next level, see you on the field at PMHS...---- Congrats Hayley-----------Guru

 

Coach Caddigan has stolen one here! Said it before and I will say it again.. Haley is the best utility prospect in the state and has a wonderfull team oriented personality. I cannot think of a better teammate in the 6+ years we spent in travel ball.

I will be coming down to Wingate to watch her play so Toot plan on coming off some of that stash because I want some Big Bob's BBQ chicken after the game!

Ps: Marci, thanks for your efforts on Haley's behalf. There is not a young lady more deserving anywhere!

 

There is not a nicer kid or family out there. They've been great to my family and daughter after she moved over this summer and really made her feel comfortable and welcome. That's Hayley though a great player and a better teammate. And the Queen of Diamonds on top of that!
