    so if they are declared ineligible, what happens to the team they beat?

    Probably the same thing that happened to South Caldwell a couple years ago after getting beat by Crest in the third round. Friday before Crest left the high school, they were forced to forfeit because of an ineligible player. South Caldwell was never given the opportunity to continue. My guess is the same thing will happen this time too.

    That's what will happen. Had the game not been played as ordered by the NCHSAA, Pine Forest would have advanced by forfiet but now New Hanover will get a free pass to the 3rd round.
