    Alexander Central wins for the first time since Dec. 27, 2007. Under unbelievable circumstances.

    I defended the old regime- I will say right here and now, I was wrong!- Coach Taylor will turn that team around.

    I am curious about the "circumstances"....unless you are talking about what i read in the paper today?

    SC over East Burke by 17. I think the final was 70-53. Led by as much as 28 in 4th quarter. Everyone played at the end.
    On a sad note long time SC supporter Charlie Harris, nctiger on here passed away suddenly Sunday. He will be missed

    I believe this is the biggest blowout I have ever seen between these two teams. The lady Titans were impressive tonight.

    I asked Van McKinney & Marty Queen in their long-time coverage of the Freedom-McDowell series if they ever seen a score so lopsided? Marty remembered a game during the Anna Atkinson era that was of a similar score, Van never saw the score this lopsided. The highest lead was 43 points at one time.

    Personally, Ive never seen a blowout this bad on either side.

    Largest win margin in McDowell -Freedom girls basketball series
    McDowell 1998 82-45 37 points @Marion
    Freedom 1994 79-48 31 points @Morganton

    Series stands at McDowell 58 Freedom 45
    McDowell is 21-3 in the series since the 2002 West Region title game which Freedom won 82-69.
