    Need advise

My thoughts are not only for Clarkon2 but for the other 15 or so players that spend the off season getting ready and play their collect fannies off throughout the season and they are all deprived when it hits the fan. This, in my opinion doesn't just involve 2nd base.

Just my opinion...but I would not turn this in. I've always been dead-set on letting my kids figure this stuff out themselves. I'm not criticizing...just my personal philosophy.

I believe I would talk to the coach. If he is unaware of the situation he will handle it rather than risk forfits. If he is aware of it, I would't want my son to be part of his program.

Does this fall under the "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin' rule?"

Does the head coach know he has an illegal player?

Does the administration know about it?

Is this a lesson one would want one's kid to learn?

High school ball is jamb-packed with challenge and adversity.
    - a great LIFE lesson.

new kid from the DR just showed-up
the all-county upperclassman has my spot
the coach has it out for me
the practices are too hard - long and boring
the other guys on the team don't like me - off the field

it does call for players to develop a "utility of skills"
that will allow moving to another position to get PT
i agree players - just want to play

BUT remember - if you can hit - you'll play
no matter what you are up against

otherwise - I'd have a private conversation - if I felt the season was at risk - as soon as possible.

I was just wondering, is the MPHS/EM squabble about IB classes and kids having to go to another school much different about a parent wanting to transfer their kid for athletics. What do you think posters.

I don't know enough information about the squabble, but moving because of academics is understandable, as is sports. Charlotte is unique versus most other areas in the state. We don't have community schools and many times the boundary lines can change from year to year. A kid can attend one school one year and be forced to transfer the following year.

It's unfortunate, but in some cases families are forced to decide to sell their home, pack and move to another area to maintain going to the same school...or worse, add more expense by renting a home in the school district.

I've heard horror stories where families separated or divorced just to keep their children in a particular school. It's a family decision and I don't think it's anybody else's business as long as it's done legally.

I have also heard the stories, why a kid wants to transfer and i agree, if it is legal it is none of our business and if it is illegal it is the administration at that school business to make it right. Hey if any of the studs in the SW conference or Hopewell High wants to come to Mallard Creek, there are many houses for sell over here. Oops is that recruiting.

I'm hurt you didnt mention anything about Lake Norman kid's invitation to come down to MC, and after all my dad did for you at Northwest when the state lost their minds over try-outs for pony league......SEE YOU ON THE FIELD.....And tell that boy of yours to take it easy on us new-comers to the 4A ranks...:fryingpan:

That is why i was asking for help so we can at least have a fighting chance against you guys. That is a stud team so don't start sand bagging this early. Realignment wasn't kind to the I-Meck adding you guys and Mooresville. 15 losses combined between you two in the last 3 years. I was just telling my son the other day about what happened in the 70's at NorthWest. Great minds think a like.
