Anything is possible, but McDowell took it to Patton in Morganton amidst a very tough crowd in a very LOUD gym. Since they're used to the loudness of Titan Gym, The Silver Dome, The Coliseum, etc.. I think they'll be just fine.

Besides, with Brandon Dockery leading this team, they're tough to beat. He's probably the best point guard to wear a Titan uniform in a very long time. I was very impressed with his decision making, ball handling skills, and his very accurate shooting.

Will you be able to attend the game tonight Warden. I can't wait to hear BigDan make his debut as the titan P A announcer. "Lets get ready to rumble"

No, I have to work today and will be leaving early (potentially) to announce at Freedom tonight vs. East Burke.

Are you going to announce the Varsity games? I thought you told me you only did JV. If so you'll have to get off very early.Good luck.

Sorry you didn't get to make it Jon. I know what you mean about people that abuse the system. We have them too. BigDan did a great job in his debut last night. We had a great crowd considering the weather conditions and all.

Tony, thanks for all the compliments. I enjoyed my first time on the PA for basketball. Now I need to re-coop my voice and get ready for Tuesday and the MAC opener against Roberson.

Now I have to disagree with your comment on the crowd...I gotta call out the Titan Nation on this one.

Folks, McDowell is 7-0 but you wouldn't have known it by how it cleared out at halftime of the boys game. I'm a little disappointed by that fact. This ain't Petey and Buggy (in terms of the talent level and athleticism) but this is by far the best "team first" group of kids that Coach Church has ever had at McDowell. This is by far the most likeable group of kids that have ever played...Brandon, Eli, Dakota, T-Hop, Chavis, Randall...all of them, they are excellent kids on and off the court. And this is also a group that used last year's struggles as motivation to get in better physical shape and better skills-wise. These kids remembered being the worst McDowell team (record-wise) in school history last year and they wanted to do something about it...and by god they have. With MAC play opening up Tuesday I think its time for the loyal McDowell fans to come out in full force. This is a pretty good team that has a good chance at taking the MAC title.

BigDan I based my opinion of the crowd size on the fact that the temperature outside was about 25 degrees and Patton was a new team to our schedule. Although there were a lot more fans for Patton than showed up for Freedom and the Patton fans were much louder. I left with about five minutes to go in the boys game when we had the game well in hand. I believe our crowds will grow as the season wears on. The price increase at the gate will hurt some though.

Tony what dan is refering to is that half the fans leave after the girls game is over. it just shocks me to see alot of (not all) teachers and administrators leaving after the girls games. dont even come if u can't support both teams. what does that say to the boys on this team? if u cant figure it out come ask me at the next game and i will tell u.
