Wow…we did it again! What a staff we will have! From major league players, ex-players, top HS coaches and some of the best instructors in the country. All of them are volunteering simply to give something back to the young players and all have embraced the idea of contributing to the Team MLE (Emily Rose foundation to eradicate Leukemia) and Freddy Sugg’s foundation to help underprivileged kid’s play baseball. Just like last year, we have so many talented folks that it would take me two pages to list their credentials. These are the cream of the crop guys!

We have top instructors for the pitchers. We have top instructors for the catchers. We have outstanding instructors for the position players….and our hitting instructors. They don’t get any better.

And here is what you get:

    - Pitchers will have one on one time with Jake Robbins 14 year veteran of ML, Robert Woodard- UNC’s All Time Win leader -Padres, Ryan Morris- One of Cleveland’s top prospect- Indians---Tyler Lumsden—Houston Astro’s, and Jason McEachern with Tampa Bay Ray’s. If they can’t teach you something…you can’t be taught. This is not about throwing bullpens, although those wanting to will be able; it’s about the Art of Pitching- philosophies, experience, pick off moves and tricks of the trade…and learning it from professional pitchers.

    - Catchers will get advice and practice from Brandon Yarbrough- Cincinnati Reds (last year’s event, Brandon was besieged with requests to teach more), Dallas Tarleton- Colorado Rockies, fundamentally one of the best catcher’s in the country.

    - Position players will have super SS Ben Billingsley with the Seattle Mariners, ex-UNC star and Chicago White Sox, Kyle Shelton, UNCC's career hit leader and Houston Astro's infielder, Aaron Bray...and of course, one of the best infield instructors in the country in Jeff Schaefer- 14 year professional career
    .
    - Outfielders will have an unbelievable instructional coach in David Mailman, Red Sox top prospect outfielder, professional staff from CBC and Head Coach’s Hal Bagwell- Ardrey Kell, Danny Hignight- Providence HS, Derek Shue- Concord HS, Mark Mennitt- Marvin Ridge HS and Chet Greeson- Hopewell HS

    - Hitting Instructors: Freddy Suggs, Terry Brewer and Mark Tarleton. Three of the best you will ever find. No wonder they are professional scouts. I could sit for hours just listening to them speak on the subject. I would strongly recommend that you contact any of these guys while attending to set up a personal evaluation of your son. It might be the best money you ever invested.

    - This year we will have one of the most dynamic speakers in the country in Coach Allen Osborne, Wingate University. The price of admission is worth it just to listen to Coach Oz speak. “When he speaks, everyone listens.”

    - Of course, we couldn’t do this without all the college players that attend to assist with the workouts. The guys that are attending had a blast last year and are looking forward to help again this year.

But now I get to mention my favorite part…Food!!! Just like last year, we will be feeding everybody: Players, Parents, Kids, Grandma, Grandpa…and even in-laws. We’ll be grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, Freddy Suggs’ World Famous Chili w/beans, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, cakes, pies, cookies and drinks. This is FREE!! So if you are looking for me, you will know where to find me.

The TBR Christmas event, sponsored by CBC and CC Prospects, will be held Saturday Dec. 12 at CBC’s new 50,000 sq ft facility in Charlotte. Their facility is amazing!!! For those that are attending the facility for the first time, you will be awestruck in its enormity. If they raised the roof you could play a game inside. I want to thank Jeff and Jake in offering their facility for us to use. Now I don’t have to worry about the weather.

There will be some surprise guests attending through out the day—from current Major League players to professional scouts. The word has gotten around about how much fun everyone had last year: I have a feeling this one will be even better!

Reminder: I realize there will be a lot of parents attending, so don’t forget. Bring your best homemade desserts. Last year’s was amazing!!! Can we top it?

Please try to pre-register this year. We are buying food ahead of time and we need to get an idea how much to get and how many seats and tables we'll need.

See you all at CBC Saturday December 19 @ 9:00..did I mention to bring a dessert?

A few thoughts that I would like to mention:

    - This is for kids 13-18. There is no other place a young player can go to get this training. If you are wanting to improve, impress and to see how it should be done, then this is where you need to go.

    - This is not a Charlotte area event. This is for all players across the state. I have purposely started the event later in the morning to help the players coming from out of town.

Quite honestly, there is not another camp or event that has this much talented instructions. No one could afford to have it and no one could afford to pay it. But this is what I found to be unique and refreshing. There are camps one attends that lists a couple of big names associated with it. But many of them aren't actually working. This event is loaded with instructors actually instructing. They will pull a player aside to give him helpful advice or to encourage and give praise. Every single staff member loves giving back to the players because they remembered someone giving back to them.

It's a love and passion for the game...and they want to pass it on.

Something else just came to mind. I remember as a HS player dreaming one day I would have an opportunity to catch the eye of a ML scout. Never knew them or where they would be, but that was one of my dreams. Wow...to have the opportunity to be instructed by 3 of them...man, what I would have given to have had that opportunity

Great question. We will gather specific information from the players as they arrive.

I'll be glad to answer any of your questions. Feel free to ask here or you may PM me (Tom Worrell) for any specific questions. The only thing I need to know is your son's name on or with your check.

There will be a check-in when the boys arrive. The purpose of pre-registering is simply to let me know how many people are coming, so we know how much food to prepare. And based on last year...we have some people who know how to eat!!!!

Thank you, Jeri, for your question.

Also, I would like to add that we have our first softball player signed up and she is wanting to show the boys how it should be done---she is an excellent D1 calibre player.
