I'm not going to throw any team or coach names out here but I believe if you were to meet and talk with some of these elite teams coaches you will find very capable coaches with vast knowledge of the game. We are not talking about fly by night coaches; the ones that come to mind have been in the game a long time. Love 'em or hate 'em, they know the game.

I'm not saying they are any better or smarter than other coaches. Their focus is not the same focus. Their approach is not the same approach. The players opting to play on those teams do so of their own free will.

Agree 100%. Look at the turnovers the elite teams have. I know of one team that keeps a running thread looking for players. There is a reason for that.

I would hope that is really not the case on teams taking improper credit on developing a player. I would think that the folks running those teams would have more common sense and professionalism then to do something like that. It would make them look really dumb if a college coach has been tracking a kid for a long period of time and knew the truth.

I know of one particular case where being on one of the elite teams playing in Boulder actually did result in a player being signed at a major D1 school.

The player already had it but Boulder gave her the opportunity to highlight it. Would she have made it anyway, without the elite team? Possibly, but very doubtful.

The elite teams are looking to compose a full roster of the same high level players colleges are looking for--the best of the best, the cream of the crop.

Like it or not, what they want is the best players from the best teams.

I would agree. But the point of the previous post is that a DD does not have to play on an elite team to play college ball.

If you are one of the best players, you are going to get recruited. Would that player have gotton recruited had she not gone to Boulder with an "elite" team? If she did what she needed to do to help herself then absolutely without a doubt in my mind. Like it or not some of the "cream of the crop" players don't want or need the drama associated with teams that are full of heros where you don't know who is going to be playing from week to week.

There is no doubt she would have played D1 but I don't believe she would not have been signed at the school she finally signed with. Boulder gave her the opportunity to be seen playing against the biggies from the West. And she had an awesome performance.

I do know she would not have been there had she not been with the particular elite team she was with. It made a difference.

Playing for an elite team is not necessary. There are many opportunities all over the place. As I've said many times all you really have to do is let the college coaches know of your interest. You do your job after that and you can rest assured the college coaches will do their job. It's that simple!

It should be about as clear as to who's going to be playing from week to week as it is in college.

The "cream of the crop" heroes I know are going to be doing everything possible to be one of those playing.

That is what I have been trying to say!
