Wow...thanks for posting this. I hope we can get more information this year from the mountain folks. We used to get a lot of info, but this past year we rarely heard from anybody...thank you again, tameo. Chris Jones is one I must follow.

It's funny, too. One of the most celebrated players out of Charlotte was a LHP, first round pick by the Giants a few years ago. His name is ....Chris Jones and he now lives in Asheville.

Sorry. Maybe I should've explained about "total points". The dirtbags give their players 1 positive point per positive stat. Chris lead his team w/ over 150 positive stat points.

    If healthy

Connor Narron is one of the best hitters in the state, from both sides of the plate, if he stays healthy.

I'd throw Grant Shambley's name in the mix. He will probably finish with a Top 5 batting average state-wide. Won't hit many HRs but he will get on base 3-4 times a night. Shambley is a Green Hope senior and Wake Forest recruit.

    Top 5 pitchers:

Ashton Lover (AK) he came through time after time inb really tough spots. Won the elimination game against North Davidson, Saved the next one, with two on.
Ryan Butler (AK), had a rough start to the season, came on strong and stepped up big time.
Brandon Browne, has a reallygood arm and an even better idea of how to pitch.

Owen Little, (East Meck) does't overpower you, just gets you out. Really competes and knows how to pitch.
Hobbs Johnson, it has all been said, he is the real deal.

    Hitters

Brian Holberton (Myers Park) left handed hitting catcher, hits to all fields, a lot of power to right, makes adjustments quicker than almost anyone.

Jack Reinheimer (Ardrey Kell) Total team player, does whatever you need.

Ben Boykin (Nation Ford) Left handed hitting catcher, big time power, great stroke.

Two Juniors I have not seen mentioned:

Brett Austin (Providence), Switch hitter, good from both sides, good pop, good contact.

Shell McCain (Nation Ford) was 11-15 at the East Cobb Championships. Gap to gap power, great contact, the definition of "baseball Plater"
