U]2009 was a special year [/U]and I would like to review alittle and hand out some Thanks. For our team it was truly a team effort with folks from all season's and all ages. It began with a group of kids who believed in the word TEAM.As our season started the expectations were high on the field and in the class room.We played a lot of quality programs and along the way we were able to win a lot of games. This because of the kids who believed in each other. Even though at the end of the year we fell short losing to a quality squad who is always well coached and prepared. The season was a great succes.
We were then blessed with kids going to the next level.

Then came the summer and all the kids played well. Against and with great Travel Squads. We are truly blessed with the Attitudes (8-18) from young to old and with their good coaches. Also other teams who help our players. Also the many other organizations and coaches who also helped to promote our kids and their own.

Then came the fall and the travel folks continued to work with the game as we started school and the educational standards along with individual workouts preparing for the upcoming season.

Then one of the proudest days of the year for me is when I go to the mailbox to see how many of our kids were named to the NFCA High School Scholastic All American Team. On that day we had 14 Young Ladies on that squad. For kids to have to balance School, Ball, home and other obligations while getting those grades is amazing. For their teachers and folks who do not understand ball they get this part. Especially when these young ladies work to be the top of their classes.

Then came November and it was signing day. A day for everyone to see the fruits of a lot of labor. One when Grand ma/pa,Dad,Mom,brothers, sisters, other family members, travel coaches, high school coaches, teachers, preachers, and the list goes on with the end being that young lady who we all have watched mature. Who worked when she may have other things to do but didn't. We had 6 youngladies on that day to go to the next level. While still working to get some more there by the end of the year.We were truly blessed. It was a true group effort with time, money and a lot of sweat.

Now ole 2009 is coming to an end and in a few days it will all start over with new champions to be crowned. New bonds and rivalrys will strike up with realignments.I will tell you one last thing I just got back from the NFCA convention and no matter how far you travel west or talk to hundreds of coaches across the good old USA they all know us in North Carolina. That is at every level From all the D's1,2,3, Jucos,High Schools, and Travel. Their quotes were "man you all can really play ball in NC."

So Thanks to all the folks who are in the Black Knight family as well as everyone we come in contact with. To TBR for all you do for the sport of softball.

Remeber one thing: The yellow ball we play with is a symbol that just doesn't mean a game, but the bonds of friendship and life lessons it teaches us both young and old will last a lifetime. Where the game itself will one day end the Education will continue I know this and I am truly blessed to have been asociated with our kids in 2009. Also the many years before and hopefully the good Lord will allow me some more. To everyone have a Blessed 2010 let the games begin. Mike Lambros North Davidson

Looking back over the last several years, I have many memories of my own. Just one I would like to share is after playing an arch rival, one of the opposing team’s players came up to you after the game and was asking for hitting tips. You didn’t see her as a rival, but as a young lady who wanted to continue to improve her skills. I don’t remember her name but I do remember that night.

Thank you, Coach Lambros, for your part of the memories of 2009 and years prior! Thank you for all you do for not only North Davidson Lady Knights Softball, but for the game itself. Most of all, thanks goes to you, Chief, and all of North Davidson Softball for what you’ve done for Hannah. It feels strange knowing we will be wearing green after June 2010, but we are slowly adjusting. :wacky:

Great person. I've traveled from Lake Norman many times to watch his team play. Happy New Year to all.
