    TBRockers,
    Happy New Year!

I have received a bunch of questions regarding the CBC Collegiate Coaches Instructional Skills Camp. Everything asked from is there enough parking to can my mom stay and watch me? We have more than enough parking and moms love baseball to so bring her down. I wanted to answer the more serious questions since we are only a week away from January 10th which is the first Sunday of the camp. These are the more popular questions. If you guys have any more questions please post them or email me at [email protected]. You can call into CBC (704-499-9040) as well.

Why do some many schools commit to work the CBC Camps?
The answer is simple. We provide a quality opportunity for the coaches to work with talented student/athletes who are looking to improve their skills and hopefully play at the next level. Being able to bring so many players into one facility gives the college coaches an opportunity to promote their programs by working with the student/athlete.

What schools have coaches working the camp?
    NC State – Clemson – Wake Forest – Virginia Tech – North Carolina- Winthrop – UNC Charlotte High Point-Erskine- Butler-Appalachian State–Elon-Western Carolina– Davidson-Belmont Abbey Davidson - Francis Marion – Pfeiffer - Wingate -Lenoir Rhyne-Liberty Limestone–UNC Pembroke Furman- Wofford – College of Charleston – Newberry-Spartanburg Methodist-USC Upstate USC Sumter-Princeton-Methodist University-Dartmouth–UNC Wilmington-Harvard
Georgia State-UNC Asheville-Georgia Southern- AND MORE CALLING US

Can the college coaches talk to me or my son in regards to recruiting him?
NO. Coaches can talk about their schools but cannot to talk to you about recruiting your son. They can speak about the recruiting process in order to educate everyone. They cannot offer you anything or invite you to visit their school. They can talk about what they look for in a student/athlete.

If my son is hoping to be noticed by a school is this the best camp for him to attend?
We strongly believe this is best winter camp in the Carolinas. Because they are instructing the coaches will also participate in our evaluation process. It is their job to recognize talent and not forget the talent they recognized. By the rules coaches during this period have communication restrictions and it is theirs and CBC’s responsibility to make sure everyone is playing by the rules. College coaches identify and develop talent for a living…you just don’t turn that off.

I have heard over 100 players who have attended the CBC camps in the past two years have gone on to play college baseball. Do you attribute that entire number to attending a CBC camp?
As much as we would like to say yes the answer is “of course not”. There are no golden gooses out there even though one or two may think and even claim to be. No one can say if you attend one of their camps whether it be instructional/ID/Showcase or play for their organization you are guaranteed a scholarship to play college baseball. CBC provides the opportunity for college coaches to supplement their coaching income and work with the Carolinas talented HS players. The HS players work with and learn from the very best coaches in our region in the best indoor training facility in the country. They also have the opportunity to impress a coach enough that he decides to keep up with him during his high school and summer ball season.

Will talented HS players attending a CBC camp be recognized by these coaches?
It is their job to recognize and develop talent. Coaches are not permitted to address a specific player regarding recruiting him. The coaches do take note of the talented players and will request info on those players at a later date. Again, seeking out and developing talent is their livelihood. Our camp has worked out well for players in all graduating classes. Un-signed seniors have found this camp to be extremely valuable

Has attending a CBC camp led to someone eventually committing to a school?
Yes, many players who’ve attended our camps have opened the eyes of the coaches instructing. Once the recruiting blackout period is over I will receive several phone calls and emails from the college coaches requesting player contact information. We will provide the coaches with information specific to the players they are inquiring about.

The last two camps were 1 day camps, why the change to a 3 day camp?
We intended to work a one day camp again until it was suggested by a few of the college coaches to open the camp up to more days. In doing so we would provide a greater opportunity for the student/athlete to absorb the instruction, work on it, return and show progress. We feel good about providing players opportunity to work with a college coach three times vs. one. It adds value along with a greater opportunity for exposure and evaluation.

How can these schools be in attendance when this is a blackout period?
College coaches cannot go off campus and attend a showcase event. Showcase events are typically run by the organization putting the event on. College coaches do not participate during showcases, they are there purely to evaluate and ID. Our camp has been cleared by the conferences and the NCAA because it is a working camp. The college coaches attending participate in the instruction and are financially compensated for working.

What makes this camp different than the other camps?
CBC has established itself as a well-known instructional environment that offers tremendous opportunity for the student athlete who is interested in pursuing college and professional baseball. There is no other winter baseball camp in the Carolinas that can bring so many college coaches and MLB scouts inside. CBC is the largest indoor baseball training facility on the East Coast. Our 50,000 sq ft state of the art facility is equipped to run an effective camp with well over 300 players.

My son has already verbally committed to a college why should he attend this camp?
One, he will receive a high level of instruction. Because one commits to play college baseball you don’t stop working on your game. Two, MLB scouts! Scouts start tracking players now for the draft three to four years out. If you have desires to play at the pro level then you should attend.

    How do I register?
Click on or cut and paste the link below. You can register online. Remember we are limiting the number of players to 300. Camp will fill up.

Why would you cut the camp attendees off at 300 players?
This is about quality and opportunity. We could easily handle 400 players inside of CBC but the decision was made to ensure that the coach to athlete ratio is strong. It is important to CBC that the boys and their family walk away knowing they got what they expected by attending the camp and more.

We are traveling from out of the area to attend camp and will have to stay overnight, is there quality food and lodging near CBC?
Yes, several hotels and reatuarants are located within a five mile radius. If you need help locating a placer to saty please call into CBC and ask for Sue, she will be happy to assist you.

We look forward to seeing old friends and new faces at the camp next weekend

    What if?

What if I am from out of town and can only make it to one of the days and not all three? Can the fee be prorated?

Or what if I can only make it to one or two days even if I am local?

    Good question...

Yes you may pay for a single or a two day option. Like anything though the package is the best deal. If you would like to pay for the single day it would be as follows:

$150 for a day for one of the sessions
$175 for a day for the full day/both sessions

    Thanks baseballx3

My son went to the first CBC Skills Camp as a high school junior. Within weeks the mailbox was filled with correspondence from many of the Coaches that attended the camp. It was also the first time that he met a Coach from the college he now attends. It doesn't matter who you play Showcase for or what Legion team you're on, this camp gets you seen; we know this from personal experience. Good Luck and show 'em what you got!
