3A will be interesting this year. Mt. Pleasant and Ledford both gave Central Davidson a serious run for their money in the playoffs last season and have moved to 3A with many returning players. Southwestern Randolph, a perpetual 3A powerhouse, graduated their awesome pitcher and lost their coach. Top ten Eastern Randolph moves down to 2A and top ten Glenn moves up to 4A.

The realignment of classifications and conferences could bring about surprises all over the state.

    Other factors in 3A

And, now you have J.M. Robinson and Central Cabarrus to throw into the 3A mix (JMR and CC moving down from 4A). Robinson, CC, Concord and Mt. Pleasant all have strong sophamore pitchers I believe, with a lot of talent surounding them. And from what I've seen so far, a lot of freshman talent coming in as well. So it will be fun to watch for the next three years at least.

I agree, the new SPC should be a dog fight between these four very strong teams, I know Mount Pleasant returns just about everyone along with Central Cabarrus with 8 returning starters and Concord returns all 9, and Robinson has a strong group returning as well should be alot of fun this year with the new confrence.

    Hickory Ridge?

They have some kids that can hit and play defense. I would not overlook them.

Agreed. This should be a strong conference throughout. You will have to come to play every game unlike last year where there were some less than competetive opponets.

You are right. Hickory Ridge is another tough one that will be in the SPC and can not be over looked for sure.
