Wow, I just saw this thread and couldn't believe some of the things I read. CPC is always one of the best conferences in the state. As far as Coach Pope is concerned, all you have to do is speak with one of his ex-players to know what a great job he has done.

The problem the CPC has in the playoffs is the SW4A.

    - In 2003 they got beat by Myers Park
    - In 2004 they got beat by Independence
    - In 2005 they got beat by South Meck
    - In 2008 they got beat by Ardrey Kell
    - In 2009 they got beat by Ardrey Kell

I think most of the coaches in that conference are quality coaches and people. The only thing I disliked was the conference losing Jamie Lowe...but your loss was my gain, so I ain't complainin'.:clapclap:

The CPC will have another great year with Reagan entering the conference. North Davidson returns their whole team except for co-player of the year Zach Joyce. They did pick up a transfer in Christian Bailey from East Forsyth who was an all-conference performer in the Metro. They seem to have the pitching depth, defense, and experience. It will be the offensive production from Lassiter, Bailey, and others that determines if ND can win the CPC. West Forsyth will have 2 of the best arms in the league in Ryan Mayhew and Ben Currie. They will also have a very good catcher in Josh Clark. Some other good players for them include Jonathan Holt, JT Tuttle, and others. Just like ND they will have to find some offense with the losses of Adam Griffin and Tyler Alberts to FCD. Mount Tabor returns 6 position starters from last year's championship team but lost its top 4 pitchers in Batts, Thomas, Hickman, and Simpson. They will have to have big games from junior Jamie Nunn, Seniors Collin MacIntosh and Nick Flachofsky. The other innings will have to come from Montana Dawson, Jon Gordon, Matt McConnell, and maybe Bradley Morton. They do return their starting Catcher, SS, 2B, CF, LF, and Dawson will probably move to 1B from RF. Pitching will determine if they can compete for the CPC championship. Davie County is returning a number of arms in Josh Berryhill, Joe Watson, Zach Long, Carson Herndon, Shane Carter, and others. They also return Jacob Barber at catcher and Alex Newman in CF, along with some other position player starters. Reagan lost 1 of their top players to FCD in Brandon Culbreath, but returns one of the most dangerous hitters in the area in Austin Blake who has committed to East Carolina. Zach Winkler will be their #1 pitcher with others having to help out. Their question will be pitching depth just like Mount Tabor's. Reynolds returns 1 of the top catchers in the area in Connor Andrus and 1 of their starting pitchers from last year. They seem to knock off at least 1 of the top teams in the conference every year. Only 2 weeks to it all gets started. It should be a very good year again in 1 of the top conferences in the whole state. Good Luck to all of the CPC teams!!!!

Seems as if Brandon Culbreth, Adam Griffin, and Tyler Alberts have got a lot of attention in this thread. Talking about how they transferred to FCD for their coach. I'm pretty sure Adam Griffin was the only one who played Dirtbags before transferring over to FCD, which would make the statements of Culbreth and Alberts false since they did not know Partin.

Just because Culbreth and Alberts didn't play for the dirtbags doesn't mean that they didn't know coach Partin. Everyone in the state who knows anything about the high school baseball recruiting process knows that coach Partin has a ton of connections at the next level and is great at getting his players recruited and is probably the reason that these kids decided to go to FCDS. They are both terrific hitters and have the skills to play at the next level and I can guarantee that we will see the newest additions to the class of 2011 wearing the dirtbags camo jerseys next year and then signing to play at a good school.

    Student transfers.................

This must set a record for the topic most brought up! Personal desicions are made. Move on to the upcoming season and focus on the great ballgames ahead. If your on a team that has someone who left, make the season a reason for them to regret the choice.
