    The MEGA 7 conference is a split conference with 4 4A teams and 3 3A teams. They are guaranteed 3 playoff spots in the 4A western bracket.

    Charlotte Catholic: 12-0 (21-2) 3A School
    Harding: 8-4 (16-7) 3A School
    Olympic: 7-5 (15-9) 4A School
    West Meck: 6-6 (10-14) 4A School
    East Gaston: 5-6 (10-10) 4A School
    Garinger: 3-9 (3-13) 4A School
    Waddell: 0-11 (3-14) 3A School

    The 4A number one seed from this conference actually finished 3rd in the conference. The number two seed had a losing record and the number three seed had a losing conference record.

    Split conferences are killing the playoff brackets IMO under the current format. You gotta think at some point the NCHSAA needs to look into a better seeding format for basketball.
