Tomorrow night my son begins his final season of organized baseball. He started playing when he was seven and baseball has been a huge part of our family's life for the last fifteen years. He has had incredible highs and devastating lows but always had another season to look forward to until now. Now its just get the most out of this final season and move on to the next phase of life. He has done an awesome job in school and will most likely be in engineering school next year, so I think he will move on to the next phase easier than I will.
So for all those out there chasing their young sons from ballfield to ballfield, please enjoy every single moment as they won't last forever.

Ahhhh, my dear friend. We have shared many of those same coaster rides. I wish Mac all the success this year---he has earned it.

Amen. My oldest officially started his last baseball season this week when tryouts began. He moves on to college for education and football but we spent the better part of life at fields all over the country. he still says his best memories were at Jamestown Park from 8 to 12 years old. Even though he has college football I don't anything will be as much fun as high school sports.

Agree 100%. Mine at least is going to play college baseball. That's a whole different thing though. Thinking back over the years of rec ball, travel ball, showcase ball...etc. I guess every level was all just preparation for the final school season for some. Not even looking forward to Senior night cause that's when it's really over(might make me shed a tear). Here's hoping all you Seniors have a great season and good luck in all your futures.

Believe me, Kooch, those four years of college will pass like a thief in night.

I been outta playin ball for goin on 6 years. Absolutely can't believe it.

Treat every inning like it's your last and try to make it last forever (that is if you're not pitching).

My son will start his first game in almost four years tomorrow. He had Tommy John surgery early in his freshman year and has only pitched a few innings since then. To say that I am excited for him would be quite an understatement.

God luck BaseballMan to you and your son. The long road back. Enjoy every pitch, the good ones and the bad ones. My son pitched yesterday for the first time in 3 years, but not due to injury. They made him a catcher which was the right move. But after watching him pitch all those years in youth ball it was special to see him throw again. Every pitch was beautiful, whether a ball or strike. There was no stress, just joy. You never know which pitch will be the last one. Enjoy the ride.
