in the big south, the battle for the conference will definately be between Crest and North Gaston. Crest is always solid with some new excellent freshmen, but North has some powerful seniors with plenty of experience. games should be great to watch.

    Rocky River Conference

Piedmont is looking strong this year, and with sophomore pitcher Lorna Duncan who threw a shutout the other day against Sun Valley the defense is solid behind her...It appears they will have to get by the Stanley County Teams, and Forest Hills to have any chance for the conference Title..

Not to take anything away from Chelsea shes great, but you might want to say a little more. It probably should sound like Raiders, Harkey, Rosenbalm, Davenport, and supporting cast.

    CVAC

In the CVAC Bandy's appears to be the team to beat with South Iredell and East Burke a close second. But who knows the year is young for the whole conf.

EB is young with no seniors and only a couple juniors.
The youth has shown thus far having looked good vs McDowell and North Gaston only to look terrible at South Caldwell.

EB will be lead by a pair of sophomores catcher Taylor Burkhalter(Harkey Storm) and Kayla Shelton at 3rd.

EB needs returning pitcher Dakota Icard back healthy, After a long summer of hour long trips to her pitching coach Sharron Baily, Dakota fell ill after try-outs and is out. Things are looking good and she looks to be back in about a week or so.

    Good luck to all

    Rocky River 2A

Don't count Cuthbertson out in the RR 2A. They lost to West Stanly 4-3 in 8 innings Saturday and looked strong for a young team. I think they will compete.

    Piedmont Solid Everywhere !!!

I have been watching teams like CC,AC, ND,CD and etc...for years, but I'm telling you when you've got speed everywhere it sure gives more confidence to the pitcher. The Piedmont outfield is as best as you can get, with one of the fastest freshman players, I've have seen in a long time, not one but two balls hit deep over her head, and she caught both of them ESPN style, I mean they were screamers. Nothing that has been hit more than 40 yards from any outfielder in the air has been dropped by any of the Piedmont outfield. The Infield is solid also, 3 seniors, and one sophomore. The first baseman reminds me of Lindsey Wright ( XBlue ) with her aerobatics able to snatch anything thrown to her. She made a dramatic catch from the SS as she stretched to receive the ball Friday night that put out the runner by one step. These kids look like a team eager to get to the State, but there are some tough teams to get by first, so we will play one at a time..
