    Southern Lee 12
    Eastern Randolph 5

Southern Lee trailed 5-1 in the 4th and then they decided to start hitting. They are now 2-1 on the season with wins over E. Randolph and Western Guilford. Only loss was a road loss at Ragsdale, 3-2.

They travel to Pinecrest on Friday before beginning conference play next week.

Congrats Putt on Walt's terrific game. Seems that Ragsdale is loaded again this year. This might be the year they break down that wall.

Thanks Braves, but everyone is playing well. But as our coach said, we'll go as far as our pitching can take us. We lost 96% of our innings last year.

ECU commit Ben Fultz is on fire.

I have a new appreciation for what the really gifted guys can do. After a while the really good hitters don't see many good pitches. My son and Billy Stone enjoy hitting behind DeSean Anderson and Ben Fultz. There is usually someone on base when they come up.

I wish I could have seen your guys play against Southern Lee last week but I couldn't make the trip. My son is Southern Lee's catcher. He said you guys were really good. If anything it should have been a moral victory for us to only lose to you by 1 run! I'll get to see more of Ben Fultz this summer because he is playing for GBC with my son. Can't wait to see him play!

Good luck the rest of the season!

You should be very proud of your son. he was enthusiastic, definitely a leader out there, helped his pitchers a lot, blocked very well, threw out a runner. can't remember what he did at the plate. He also made a good tag at the plate. You guys could have won that game. You have a good team. I really like Coach Matt.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad to hear he's the same player when I'm not around. I'm sure by "enthusiastic", you meant "jeez that kid never shuts up!".

All kidding aside, thanks for noticing him. He's a senior this year and is just now getting a chance to show what he can do because he's been stuck behind upperclassmen. He actually just started catching at the end of last season. He's played every position on the field at least once during his high school years. He'll play anywhere on the field as long as he gets to play!

Hopefully somebody else will notice that he would be a great asset to their program so he can continue to play after high school.

No need to thank me for noticing him. His effort and play caused that. Plus, my son catches also. I watch all of them.

I SCOUTED THAT GAME AND WASN'T IMPRESSED WITH AYCOCK'S DEFENSE ( EXCEPT FOR NARRON) HE MADE A BIG LEAGUE PLAY BY DIVING TO HIS LEFT AND CATCHING A LINE DRIVE THAT SAVED MORE RUNS. AYCOCK BOOTED THE BALL AROUND ON ROUTINE PLAYS, WHILE HUNT TOOK ADVANTAGE AND ULTIMATELY WON. HUNT HAS A VERY GOOD HITTING TEAM, KEEP THE BALL LOW OR YOU WILL PAY.
