I just want to say, that I in no way meant to "offend" other girls or diminish other kids' past and current achievements.

Some things are measurable in sports, and some are not. When I said, "go on a limb and say she is the greatest prospect pitcher/hitter combo IMHO" then that is all it means. Prospect is just a term used to project athletes.

If a WR in football runs a 4.2 40 in 10th grade, then he has a gift. There may be a kid across town that is a better WR skill wise, but runs a 4.9 and is a SR. So it doesn't diminish his him or knock him down, but USC and Florida aren't gonna call him up like the 4.2 kid.

Its rare to find a kid that has the physical tools Lexi has in 10th grade. Thats all I meant. :two-cents:

    a few more

taking nothing from Lexi as my DD is in her conf. and I enjoy watching her pitch and hit.
    Morgan Peeler
    Christina Melton
Sarah Mooney ( not only is she a front line pitcher, she is also one of the best catchers around and JMU bound)
    Kaylee Lang
    Jenn Rosen
Emma Stevenson ( not a power hitter but, I will take her on my team any day of the week)
    Chelsea Leonard

i am all for giving the young ladies props but, sometimes we go overboard with the things we say.

You make some good points. Lets see here ORR is 16yrs old in her soph yr at UNC, plays 1st or pitcher or DH. Can hit the long ball also.... All this would make Orr just a JR in HS. I believe we can compare a little bit in this case.... Lexi is a VERY GOOD SB player. But could she be a starter for a D1 school at age 15???? JMHO

Although I have never seen Lexi play, if metro tells me this young lady talent-wise and projects her to be a big time prospect, he is an expert and knows what he is talking about, so I trust his judgement.

    Come on adults??

Constance was 16 when she graduated HS, not 16 now in her Soph year of college. She was not a starter her Freshman year as she was behind senior pitchers, still is as a sophmore, she got some mound time and first base as well. She is probably more like 18 now or close to it, still very young and an incredible player (no one is taking anything away from other great players!) Do not think anyone said anything about a "15yr old starting for a D1 school"..do not think that has ever happened, would be hard when most would be in 9th or 10th grade... I thought TBR was all about giving great players kudos as well as celebrating their excellence? Not about petty adults going back and forth at one another picking apart high school girls. Everyone has a right to their opinion, each to their own but do not post something negative at a 15yr olds expense, seems to me that if the kudos are given to certain girls they are truly picked apart, especially if they do not play for certain teams. Let's remember what this is about and it's celebrating players, seems like TBR is getting more like a cat fight everyday between adults on each thread, shame on you all, how sad when these girls read this stuff!! Thought it was all about the girls!!!! :chillpill:

Good point and good post. Some people find it more interesting when they can stir things up. That's not why TBR was created. There are other sites they can go to do that.

    ok 16

MY bad .... Orr was 16 when she left HS. Born Jan 1992. From the UNC Web site.. 2009: Appeared in 37 games, starting 29 at first base • Appeared in 14 games on the circle, starting four at pitcher behind veterans Spaulding and Norris • Hit .293 recording 17 hits in 58 at-bats • Registered a 2.29 ERA tallying 20 strikeouts in 39.2 innings pitched. Orr started her first game at UNCC aganist UNCG..... OCT 5th 2008 as a freshman... I was there. This info below is from the UNC website.... In the opener the Tar Heels received a dominant performance from freshman starter pitcher Constance Orr who struck out seven while throwing eight shutout innings. Orr allowed five hits and walked a batter during her eight scoreless frames. The defense came to Orr's rescue in the top of the eighth when the Tar Heels turned a double play to neutralize the scoring threat in the top half. Leah Francona was placed on second thanks to the tiebreaker rule and was immediately moved to third base thanks to a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Dani Manko. Breanna Brown would step to the plate looking for the game-winning RBI and delivered it when she hit a hard ball to second that Francona was able to race home and score on giving the Tar Heels the 1-0 win. METRO and Softballcoach2...your numbers are way off... BTW Orr started today aganist UCLA played 1B..... And I'M not trying to stir thing up just answering Metro whos said Lexi Is the best thing to come along in 10 yrs or what ever ....JMHO

Come on guys. Do you know of any girl (teenager or not) that wants to have their weight posted on a public forum? I know you mean well, but perhaps a small edit is in order.

I agree though. She is an awesome girl from a wonderful family.

Porter Ridge sophomore commits to Auburn by Jerry Snow *

INDIAN TRAIL Lexi Davis continues to build on her accomplishments in softball, and she’s only a high school sophomore. Davis has given her commitment to play softball on scholarship at Auburn University, according to Porter Ridge High softball coach Lael Rorie. High school athletes are rarely offered scholarships before their senior years, and can’t sign until then. For Davis to already have an offer from an SEC school speaks volumes about her talent. “She’s on a different level,” said Rorie of Davis, who was named Union County’s player of the year as a freshman by The Enquirer-Journal. “In terms of hitting and pitching, it’s hard to find a player with Lexi’s talent.” Davis led Union County in home runs as a freshman with nine, and her ERA of 0.49 was also tops in UC. The Pirates, who are scheduled to play at Olympic today at 4 p.m., are off to a 4-0 startthis season. Davis has pitched every inning. She has thrown two no-hitters and allowed just one earned run. Rorie said Davis projects as a college pitcher. “She’s very excited about committing,” Rorie said. “She’s been over there for an unofficial visit and loves it.” Rorie sees Davis as having unusual gifts athletically, combined with the advantage of a 6-foot frame. But her talent has been developed through an equally unusual commitment. “Lexi’s one of my hardest workers, if not the hardest,” Rorie said. “She’s in the weight room all year long and she’s gotten stronger. She plays travel ball year round. “She’s always talking to me about softball at school. Lexi’s a coach’s dream.”
