UNC Pembroke Infielder Holly Berry ( X S.W. Randolph High School Catcher ); Montie Sherril said she is the best hitter he has every faced.. Right now she is leading in every category with a stout .458 batting average and 24 RBI's. This kid is probably the best hitter in N.C., I use to help coach her back years ago as a Lady Blue.. her POP is okay to !!

I Was Schooled By Her Dad This AM !!!

She is toting a .463 batting average, 2nd in the conference, leading the conference in RBI's @ 30 and hit over 6 HR's thus far now that is impressive !!! I just hope my kid gets a chance to play when she gets to college...LOL

 

No Doubt She's Really Good .. ..

But be careful about 'best in NC'. She's facing D2 pitching. Look at some of the averages that occur there. For example, former NC Wildcat Sophia Blue batted .469 while @ NC Central from 2006-2009. Again, not knocking this kid at all but hitting in D2 is a whole different deal than in D1. For my $$ the hitter that I would least want to pitch to in NC is UNC's Dani Spaulding. It was no accident that she was walked once and hit by a pitch in the heel's 1-0 loss to UCLA yesterday.

Spaulding is not FROM NC. If you're talking about the best hitter currently playing college ball FROM NC I'd have to go with either Nicki Prior @ JSU, Kelly Grieve @ UT or maybe Ashton Ward @ VT. Of the three I'd lean toward Prior but Grieve is off to great start this season. Of course this is a conversation for another board (next level).

Let's just say congrats to a great young lady and hope you have many more days like this. Couple questions: SWR sent a pitcher a couples years ago, Evidently she transferred from UNCP as I did not see her on the roster? Another What school is Anna Maness attending. Thanks

Anna graduated with Holly in 2009 she has never played with Pembroke,she plays with a college in northern Ga.
