    State Championship?

With a player like that, Porter Ridge should be the OVERWHELMING favorite to win the 4A state championship this year. Anything less would be a major disappointment, I would think. No pressure?

Good Luck to Ms. Davis and the Porter Ridge team this season. After this thread, I would think that every coach in NC will intentionally walk her.

No problem, only 1% of the softball community read this site, so coaches won't know.

Ignore the crap; most members understand and appreciate that you are trying to give what sounds like a very good kid some recognition. That's my understanding of what TBR is all about.

Sometimes people don't understand that when you are highlighting a kid you're not knocking others. There is no doubt there have been, are, and will be great players from NC. Sounds to me like she has a good chance of having her name up there with the great ones.

Don't give up on TBR just yet.

What a ridiculous statement, how about CONGRATS to a well deserving young lady who works her tail off in the classroom as a straight A student as well as on the field! She doesn't ask for high praise and as a sophomore only has even more time to grow and get even better as a player. Seeing that softball is a team sport one great player cannot win states alone, it takes a supporting cast... PR is a young team that will give it their best shot as all other HS teams will also be doing! Lexi is a mature enough player to know that it will take more than her skills to win a state championship and do not think she is worrying about that kind of pressure... obviously what she has been working hard doing for a long time has been recognized by the ones that count!! Best of luck to PR this season!!

OK, as I see it you asked a question and folks simply answered. Did you expect your question not to be answered? Never ask a question you truly dont know the answer to beforehand. My answer is Ashton Ward.

Most of the responses did reply to Metro's comment. Where these threads get stupid is when DDDare says with sarcasm that with a player like that they should be the overwhelming favorite for the state chamionship as a backhanded slap at Metro's comments. Nowhere did he make any statement like that. All you have to say is yes, you're right or no, i think this player was better.

    Sarcasm?

Sarcasm? There's no sarcasm. Metro went "out on a limb" and suggested that this player might be one of the best softball players in NC history.

As a great pitcher, it is usually expected that she will win a state championship. The great ones, such as Cox, Bowen, Ward, Orr, Leonard, Allen, Maness, etc. have all done that...with several winning multiple championships. (Wilkinson is well on her way!)

As a great hitter, with 10 HR's as a 9th grader, I wonder why anyone would pitch to the young lady. Personally, if I was a coach, I would intentionally walk her and make somebody else on the team beat me.

No sarcasm intended. No slam whatsoever on the young lady or the program. (In fact, intentional walks are a form of flattery, IMO!)

If no comments are allowed, please say that on the thread. I don't know if she's a great player or not. Just made an observation, based upon the way the thread was written.
