Blake is a great kid. Glad to see him having some success! He's always been a good hitter.

    Cuthbertson HS takes Piedmont 6 - 4

    Cuthbertson - 100221
    Piedmont - 1000102

    WP - Cameron Tekker 4IP (taken out midway through 5th) 2 H 3K's 3E 3BB
    Save - Peter Hendel 3IP 2H 2 K's 1E 0BB

LP - Didn't catch the name

    Hitters - CHS - Austin Pierce 2-3 w/a Db, 1R; Peter Hendel 1 triple, 1 sb(stole home), 1 R; Cameron Tekker 1Db, 3 SB, 2R's.
    Piedmont - Gower - 1 Db

Cuthbertson HS moves to 5 -1.

I missed the first inning and a half, but believe I have everything. If I don't, let me know.

The pitching continues to keep Cuthbertson ahead in the games. Bats are starting to come on a little at a time. Peter Hendel stole home in the sixth so Coach Little is really making these boys work on all aspects of the game. This was a strong Piedmont team and a good win for the Cuthbertson program.

Mincmi will have the details - I saw him at the game.

Ryan Butler had a no hitter through 5 I think - looked great only giving up a couple of hits - and he hit a homerun.

Ratledge hit well and made a beautiful over the shoulder catch in the outfield from his second base position.

Roanoke Rapids swept a doubleheader from Northwest Halifax today.

Tyler Floyd of Roanoke Rapids hit his 2nd homerun of the season in Game 1. There are not many other details to give as both games were shortened to only a couple of innnings.

RR improves to 4-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Butler was outstanding. Had nice pop on his fast ball. Took his no hitter into the sixth inning. Finished the game by giving up only two hits and only one runner reached third base. AK jumped on them early with three runs in the first and contined to apply pressure. Butler's HR was an absolute bomb. AK's lineup looks to have quite a bit more power this year.

Jip Richards (5 IP) and Johnny Piedmonte (2 IP) combine for the shutout.

Big hits by Anthony Dimino, Adam Venditti and Piedmonte for North.

    Cary - 6
    Middle Creek - 1

WP - Stephen McKinney (Complete Game)
    LP - A. Reams

One of the most complete team efforts I've ever seen a Cary team play capitalized by an outstanding individual performance by McKinney (complete game and also mashed a homerun).

not many details. Walt Sparks started on the mound for Ragsdale. Helped his own cause with a three run HR in the first. His second of the season. Ben Fultz homered again. I guess he didn't want the last homerless game to become the norm so he hit one out again. Homered in five of six games so far.

Ragsdale now 6-0 4-0 on the season.
