Belmont Abbey All-Around Skills Camp Moved To February 13


Due to the threat of rain on Saturday, the Belmont Abbey Softball All-Around Skills Camp has been moved to its predetermined rain date, Saturday, February 13 at the Belmont Abbey Varsity Softball Field from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Everyone who has already registered for the January 30 date will be accepted for the February 13 date.
The Belmont Abbey Softball Camp is open to girls who currently play at the high school level. Offensively, the camp will offer players a chance to improve their hitting, slapping, bunting and base running skills. Defensively, players will receive instruction on fielding and throwing from their position. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game, but is designed to take each skill to the next level.

$50 per player before Thursday 1/28
$60 per player on/after Friday 1/29
Refunds will be given for medical reasons only.
Full payment must accompany application. Make check payable to Ellie Hanover. There will be a $25 service charge for ALL returned checks. Your payment will be refunded without question if you cancel three (3) days before the clinic date. However, at any time after this date, refunds will be made for medical reasons only. Requests for refunds must be accompanied by a signed statement from your physician.

Campers should bring water and all softball equipment to camp. There will be a concession stand and we will sell lunch, drinks and snacks. All campers must be picked up by 5:15 p.m. Parents are more than welcome to watch the camp from the stands.
Agenda
10:00 – Hitting Instruction-Stations
11:00 – Defensive stations (players will work out at the position of their choice. Pitching and catching included).
12:00 – Lunch
12:30 – Warm up for scrimmage
12:45 – Team 1 vs. Team 2
1:45 – Team 3 vs. Team 4
2:45 – Team 1 vs. Team 4
3:45 – Team 2 vs. Team 3
4:45 – Conclusion/Clean Up
Teams not playing on the field will be doing new station work in cage and practice fields.

 

Visit Camp

Had lunch with Coach Hanover last week and she is impressive! Great passion and love for game and refuses to make excuses, she intends to win. Coach will run a quality camp that all will enjoy as well as learn a great deal. Oh and the Abbey is a beautiful campus to visit after the clinic.

FREE SPEED AND AGILITY CLASSES TODAY SAT. (MARCH 13TH) @ 3UP/3DOWN BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ACADEMY!

Free Speed and Agility Session with 2 Time Superbowl Champion Dean Hamel. This class will focus on lower body power, stability and flexibility, and core training. Times for the March 13th session are: ages 8-10 at 10am, ages 11-13 at 11am, and ages 14 and up at 12pm. This will be held at 3 Up 3 Down Baseball Academy at 351 16th St. PL SE. The Belmont Abbey Camp is this Sunday, March 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The camp is for players at the high school level. Please come out and support the Lady Crusaders! There will be opportunity to scrimmage if enough players participate.

The Lady Blues and NCAAU are pleased to announce the upcoming dates for their softball clinics. The hands on clinics are being offered to softball players from 8u to 14u. This years dates are April 3rd, May 22nd and August 14th. All clinics will run 9:30am to 12:00 noon at Rocky River Elem. softball complex. Cost is $45 per player (discounts available for teams).





Instruction at all clinics includes:

• Hitting techniques that make a difference
• Proper throwing mechanics
• Infield fielding drills & skills
• Bunting as a weapon
• Outfield play, throwing & fielding
• Catching basics
• What you need to know to play "college ball"
