Cuthbertson HS Over North Stanly @ NS

It was a long drive, but worth the trip. What a great baseball atmosphere up there in New London, NC!

    Cuthbertson 0003001
    North Stanly 0000100

    WP - Preston Morrison (JR - RHP) 5IP, 6K's, 5H's, 0BB's, 1ER
    Closer - Cameron Tekker (So. - RHP) 2IP, 5K's, 1H, 1BB, 0ER

    LP - #7 - Pitched a complete game. 9K's, 8 H's, 3BB, 4ER

    Hitters - Cuthbertson - Cameron Tekker 3 - 4 (1 RBI), Peter Hendel 1 - 2 (HR) (2 RBI), Andrew Hendel 1 - 3 (HR - *!st HS homerun for the freshman) (1 RBI), Brandon Fallick 1 - 3 (Dbl)
    North Stanly - Colbert(?) 1 - 2 (Dbl)

    Cuthbertson moves to 6 - 1!

Like I said...Great atmosphere, good coffee, and an even better announcer! This was one of the best nights for our bats. Pitching and agressive running put the team on top...IMHO. It was really nice to see the Hendel brothers, Peter(Jr.) and Andrew(Fr.), both hit homeruns in the same inning.

    Next game is against Monroe....

As SCPBUC would say...Not the official box score.

Butler 7-2 over Ardrey Kell in 14

Butler scored 5 in the 14th to defeat AK. Mas started for Butler allowed two over 7. Lover started for Ak and threw 5 scoreless. Chris McCue pitched the 6th and allowed a David Anderson had a two run bomb in the the 6th for Butler to tie the score. Both teams had runners at 3rd no outs during the extra frames but failed to score. After 1 run had scored for Butler, Rose hit a grand slam. McCahan got the win, pitched the last 7?

Both teams had runneron 3rd less than two out multiple times, and the pitching got out of jams. Missed in the game were some great performances:

Lover 5 innings of shutout ball, allowed maybe two hits for AK
McMahon went 7 innings in relief to get the win, got out of multiple jams (made great catch himself)
Butler's 3rd baseman Hodge, made great plays at 3rd, and look good at the plate
Mas gave up two runs, but kept hitters of balance all night.

    Watauga 6
    Alexander Central 2

    WP: Dylan Norris (3-1) 7IP, 1 ER
    LP: Tyler Gilleland

    Watauga
David Martin 3-4 HR 1 RBI
    Ryan Turner 1-4 3B 3 RBI
    Matt Proffitt 1-2 2 RBI

Dylan Norris pitched a great game again and continues to keep hitters off balance with a nasty curveball. David Martin hit the ball really well and anchored the offense for Watauga. Alexander caught a tough break when the left fielder lost the ball in the lights with the bases loaded and two outs allowing Watauga to score 3 runs and take the lead. Watauga continues to play well and has big matchups against Hickory and Ardrey Kell Friday and Saturday.
