West Iredell 4 Lake Norman 5

I think when these two teams meet its close every year. Lake Norman went up 2-0 in the bottom of the first on 4 straight hits. they held that lead through 2 innings. then a error and and a walk, a base hit, then a 2 run homerun by Sam Laws all with 2 outs put West up 3-2. It was 4-2 going into the bottom of the 7th when Lake Norman loaded the bases and managed to tie it up. 4-4 In the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs Taylor Thurber hit his first ever homerun and it was a walkoff.

    Lake Norman pitching:
    Tyler Lewis 3 1/3 4 hits 2 walks 5 k 2 er 4 r
    Taylor Thurber 4 2/3 2 hits 1 walk 5 k 0 er 0 r

    Lake Norman Hitting:
    Nick Keith 2-2 2 walks
    Taylor Thurber 1-2 HR
    Jack Edminston 1-2 2rbi
Tyler Lewis and Brad Chamberlain were both 1-3

Lake Norman 8-1 will play at west charlotte friday at 6pm

    Carson - 15 Kannapolis - 6

This game was played at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium and was like watching a men's softball game. Both teams used 6 pitchers and I think everyone had an at bat, this was a scorekeeping nightmare! Carson can hit and they can run, they had 4 triples at least. Joseph Basinger hit a 2 run homer to left center, that was well over 400'. Kannapolis led early behind a fine pitching performance by Zach Jones, who is trying to earn the 3rd starter spot. He allowed 3 runs in his first 4 innings, towards the end of the 4th you could see he was tired and leaving his pitches up, but the coaches decide to send him back out. Ends up as the losing pitcher, but should have left the game on a positive note. Carson scored 4 in the 5th and 7 in the 6th, Kannapolis never scored after the 3rd inning.

East(8-0) has outscored opponents 86-7 so far this year. Pitchers have still only allowed 2 earned runs. Nathan Fulbright had 4 hits and Andy Austin had 3. Will Johnson was the winning pitcher in relief of Preston Troutman.

    Hopewell 1 Myers Park 4

The Titans got another strong pitching performance from Keith Prowse and Keith Peterson but fell to Myers Park 4-1. Keith Prowse (1-1) got the start (5 1/3 IP, 4H, 4R, 4ER, 5K) and Keith Peterson was strong in relief (1 2/3 IP, 1H, 0R).

The offense was led by Keith Peterson (2-3), Blake Dueitt (1-2, RBI), and John Auten (1-1).

The Titans will be in action Friday when they host Mallard Creek.

Hopewell had every opportunity to win this game. The Titans stranded a load of base runners. In a 2-1 game the Titans load the bases with no outs and would come away empty.Prowse would leave the game in the 6th inning (score 2-1) with bases loaded and 1 out. Keith Peterson would take over as 2 more runs would score. This was a pitchers dual into the 6th inning. The Titans would have only 3 seniors to make the batting order due to some injuries and struggles.
