    Ardrey Kell 5
    Watauga 3

    WP: ?
    LP: Jake Watts (2-1) 4.1 IP 2 K, 4 ER

    Watauga
    Cal Hardee 3-3
    Baker Stanley 2-2
    Matt Proffitt 1-4 2B RBI
    Ryan Turner 1-4 RBI
    Tyler Jones 1-4 RBI

    Ardrey Kell
    Alex Baker HR
    Alex Bartholomew HR

I have to say after seeing this game Ardrey Kell is the best infield defensive team in the state by far. Alex Baker made several outstanding plays at third along with Reinheimer and Ratledge up the middle. Any ground ball with a runner on first is just about an automatic double play. Both pitchers threw pretty well as Watts just made a couple mistakes that were hit for homeruns. It was a great matchup between two classy teams and coaches on a great day for baseball. Watauga returns to conference play Tuesday at St Stephens.

I'm pretty sure McKinney pitched. Not exactly sure how all the runs were scored, but I'm almost positive he was on the bump.

I had the privilege of watching McKinney throw in a scrimmage game against Mooresville. Pre-season hurling upper 80's? Wow! That kind is an animal! I was definitely not disappointed that I wasn't given an opportunity to hit off of him! My seat on the pine was good enough to see how good of a pitcher that kid is!

By the way, Mckinney was only made contact off once in the first 4 innings against a Mooresville team who has scored 10+ runs in the majority of their games so far this year. That kid is the real deal.

    Has/where has he commited?

AC was a very strong hitting team 1 thru 9. 9 runs scored with two outs, numerous productive 2 strike at bats. Panthers had nothing to counter.

    Saint 6 Watauga 5

Saint's Sawyer Smith entered in the 5th inning with bases loaded an 1 out down 5-3. He shut got a FC at home for out number 2 and a pop-out to end the inning. In the bottom half of the 6th, the Indians scored 3 runs on an HBP, a walk and 3 hits including the go ahead 2 run single by Senior Parker Kersey. Smith then got the Pioneers in order in the 7th to shut the door.

2 great TEAM wins in a row for Saint including this first conference win of the season.

    WP - Sawyer Smith (2-0)
    LP - Cal Hardee

Updated Conference Standings (I'm pretty sure these are right)

    Alexander Central 5-1
    South Caldwell 5-1
    Watauga 4-2
    Hickory 3-3
    Hibriten 2-4
    Fred T Foard 1-5
    Saint 1-5

*Sidenote - Ben Watson threw a No-Hitter for Saint's JV's in there 1-0 win over Watauga
