Can we please get back to talking about the showcase? Maybe someone should just start new thread for anyone who wants to discuss Hopewell baseball.

I'd still like to see the box scores and some reviews of yesterday's games. And we still have today!

The impact of Hough opening on North Meck and Hopewell is really not that interesting. The outcome will eventually be North and Hopewell battling it out for fifth place in the I-Meck. Both teams should survive next season with the senior classes remaining at the school. The true impact will be seen in about three years.

Sorry that the boxscores from yesterday got lost in the Hopewell debate. By the way, our games got off to a bang today, when both Independence and Weddington's lead-off batters hit home runs on the first pitch they saw. Through 10 games we now have 17 home runs. Weddington went on to beat Independence 10-5. In the second game Marvin Ridge put 8 runs on the board in the 3rd inning on 8 hits and 5 errors. They never looked back and won 10-3. Right now, Hopewell is facing off against Mt. Pleasant. East Meck and North Meck will finish things off in the night cap. So far, the tournament has surpassed our wildest expectations. The baseball has been tremendous, the games exciting, the fans loud and proud, the atmosphere electric, and the food delicious. What a week it has been.

I would like to express my appreciation to Coach Koppe and his staff for an excellent tournament and the wounderful hospitality this Spring Break. The atmosphere was "play off" like at times and we got to play against three well coached and "battle tested " teams. It felt like the "good old days" at times and it was great to catch up with some wounderful friends. Braves, I would also like to thank you for your kind words and and the inspiration you give to so many through this board. I do not like to post alot but I enjoy reading and keeping up with other teams and players.
    thanks again,
    Mark Mennitt

Coach it was fun to watch your team play against East Meck. It was like a playoff game. I didn't want to interrupt your pre-game drills or the excitement after the thrilling win. But I hope you know how much I miss not seeing your team"s play. They are fun to watch and represent you well. I wish you success the rest of the season.

Now that Hammers fellow...we need to talk about him :mdrbig:

    Sorry guys

Didn't mean to cause such a stir. I know that all the other teams out there have good senior players that maybe going through the same situation. And that every coach is doing its best to put players in to make sure that his team has the best chance to WIN. Just want all of the seniors from all these teams, that deserve a chance ,to get that chance! With that being said, I would love to just get back to baseball. Had to work today and would love to hear some box scores and highlights from day 3 . Congrats to all teams involved. lots of great players on all these teams and good luck the rest of the season.
