I was lucky enough to only miss 1 of my son's high school games BUT I did miss an 11u allstar game in which he had 2 triples and a double to win the Babe Ruth player of the game ball in the State tournament.......

Yesterday my good buddy Pete Sinopoli could not attend the Cardinal Gibbons game in the Johnston County Easter Tournament and lo and behold his son Jack hit his first ever high school home run and to boot he was the winning pitcher in the game.

It makes for both a happy and sad day when these events occur.

What milestones have you missed due to the responsibilities of WORK?

I missed both of my sons first home runs in Rec league. Both times I was coming from work and pulling in the parking lot when I heard the crowd roar. I have since seen other great plays and hits but they still remind me that I missed their first.

    Missed No hitter

I missed my son's first complete game No Hitter. His team won the game 1-0! I was doing the second best thing; playing golf!

    Wrong.

Well if you are going to miss it then this is the best thing to miss it for. What did you score? Howd you play?

Not too bad....85 at the Legacy in Aberdeen. I'm normally a 12 handicap at a good course and a 4 handicap at my local course. I was out playing free golf with vendors and had free dinner at The Barn. So, it wasn't too bad!
But I still would have rather seen my son's first No hitter. I was getting updates along the way though! The kid he pitched against pitched a Two (2) hitter, his name Ronald Womack (Hoke County).

My two sons are 12 months and one day apart in age (19 & 20 now). For two years they were on two separate Greenville Little League teams. A lot of times their games were at the same time so I missed quite a lot of action but I made sure I didn't miss one kid's games more than the other's. However it really sucked missing any of their games and I still regret it to this day. Luckily they allowed my younger son when he was 11 to be traded to his brother's team for the first pick in that year's Little League draft (you don't hear very often of Little Leaguers being traded...lol!) so for at least one year I had both boys on the same Little League team and it was great.

    Already missed too many firsts

I missed my son's first college start/game, first college hit (went 3-5 that game in Jacksonville, FL in 2nd game of season) and today I missed his 1st college homerun which was his 1st ever Grand Slam (game was in Delaware). I'm just sick about it!
