Our team is from Ohio and we're looking at coming down to SC this summer to play in a WFC tournament. We don't have WFC in OH, but mostly ASA with some USSSA and NSA. What are some thoughts on this sanctioning body?

Heard some interesting feedback regarding "bandit runner" which I haven't seen before. Thanks!

That would entirely depend on what tournament you are speaking of, as well as what age group. If you are speaking of a 14u or 16u team playing in their World Series, the couple of times my daughter participated albeit a couple of years ago, it was a well run event with some decent competition coming out of multiple states.

If you are speaking of an 18u team, then I would say I would look to making the trip on November for their fall Early Signing Showcase - they usually have some strong competition for this well-organized event.

Sorry, we're 10U. The World Series looks like a very appealing event given the location. We've been planning to attend the ASA Eastern Nationals in York PA, but have no idea what we'll do to entertain the kids when we're not playing softball. Myrtle Beach is a no-brainer. On the other hand, I would like to hear from some local people what they think of the competition and the sanctioning body. I just heard about WFC and the event for the first time ever this week.

Since you are 10u, having something to do besides ball games will be important. The girls will remember having fun more than their results of the tournament(unless u win of coarse). While WFC is not the prominant orginization in the Carolinas, they do have a good product that pulls decent competition from other states for their world series. And Myrtle Beach has fun for everyone.

I live 60 miles north of Myrtle Beach and my dd played in this tournament. For your age group, it would be a good trip for your girls and the families. The competition should be fairly good. Lots of stuff for the girls to do after playing their games. The only problem you may run into is keeping the focused on task at hand, playing each game. It would be a trip your girls & their families will always remember. The memory will last a life time and that my friend, will make the trip well worth your time

I agree with 6's Dad. We went there in 12u and had a blast. WFC does a good job. So the softball was very good and all of the families had a great time between games. One of the most memorable trips we've been on for sure.

Best event in Myrtle Beach is the Hawaiian Tropic in July. Has been for over 30 years!

We (Alexander Blue) won the 10 under WFC World Series last summer. It was a great experience for our girls and parents. It was nice to play just 1 game per day and enjoy the rest of the day at the beach. I do not think you or the girls will be disappointed. The competition was good and the tournament seem to be managed well.
