The 2 runs for Lake Norman was a 2 run HR by Jack Edminston. Lake Norman seems to be in a slump. Pitching looks bad defense is bad. also not much offensive production. last 3 games given up 31 runs and scored 3(1 run from a tyler lewis homerun, the other 2 from jack edminston on a 2 run homerun) They play at North Meck(who lost to Hopewell Last night) on Friday in a huge conference game. Lets see if they can turn this around.

    Sountern Nash 1

Hunts Kyle Pittman hit 2 grand slams in the game and a solo blast plus a double. 9 RBI's on 3 swings. He had a great year in one game lol!

I can name 3 defensive errors by the left side of the Hopewell defense.....maybe that's the difference......or maybe all of the offense happened while I was in the bathroom :biggrina: Any way you slice it when you limit North Meck to 27 batters and one run that's one heck of a performance.

I stand corrected...the official box score has 4 hits....I guess I was in the bathroom longer than I thought

    Mt. Peasant vs. Weddington

Weddington comes out on top at Mt. Pleasant 5-0.

Next game is at Weddington for the Marvin Ridge rematch at 7:00. If Friday nights rematch is half as good as the first one, it will be one not to miss.

I'm not sure what the official (home) box score says, since the line score in the Observer was probably from Hopewell, but 4 hits sounds about right. Hunter May pitched very well, and the Titans played with confidence from the start.

On the other hand, North made more than 5 errors, which is what was published in the paper. They made at least 7 or 8, if you can believe that. I don't know if any of Hopewell's 9 runs was earned. Combined with several base running mistakes and a bunch of mental errors, North played about as poorly as a team can play.

With Lake Norman struggling as well, something is going to have to give on Friday.

True, North Meck made a bunch of errors...but that is part of the game. A part that Hopewell was better than North on this night. The Hopewell hitters were squaring up balls from the start and they weren't swinging through many, but their defense surely let the pitcher down and took him out of the game (figuratively) as he was still pitching when trailing 9-1. An ill-advised throw by the catcher (2 outs, 2 strikes, runner on third) sailed into center field and the first run for Hopewell waltzed in. More of the same kinds of odd micues led to a big inning for Hopewell and May cruised from there...you could see the confidence the big lead gave him on the mound.

Absolutely true....as I said, May pitched great and the Titans played very well. They were by far the better team. Didn't mean to take anything away from them.

You see, the problem is, you're building your bathrooms too nice. Down East, we don't want anybody to miss much of the game, so we don't build them too nice.
