    A very special son

Today the son of Bill and Pepi Dicus, Will Dicus, will be honored by having his #6 Watauga High School jersey retired. Will lost his battle with Ewings sarcoma June 1, 2009. He was the epitome of courage and perseverance. Will inspired teammates, friends, teachers, coaches, parents - anybody who met him. He was a leader (and sometimes a ring leader  ) and was loved by all. Tonight as I watch my son play, I will be thankful for that incredible blessing.

    Make #6 important

I can't imangine losing my son and it breaks my heart that some parents have had to "lay to rest" a son who had just begun his life. It would honor me to profile him on our site, any links? I think using the
#6 for players who show heart and courage, would honor this brave young man along with his family and teammates.

Congrats "Mom"...what a great memory. And to do it at Intimidator Stadium makes it more special. Did you get the ball?

Thanks Braves! Yes, he has the ball. Someone gave it to him. I missed the game though as I was with our younger son at his game, but my husband was there. And, the funny thing is that earlier today Stretchy and I were talking about having two kids who play ball. I said that I absolutely love it, he thought he wouldn't like it in case he missed some big games while being at the other child's game. I guess he jinxed us in a good way today - lol!

Of course he did. Stretchy is always a jinx...sometimes good...sometimes bad.

I'm glad that Dad was there. He can fill me in
