Prowess? It shows you what the difference is when you play 1-A schools for non conference games, and 4-A for Non conference games. The two teams have had two close match ups this season! EW just had it last night, they had it all season, but they have been like a see saw. CBA just wasn't sure what hit them with Fred on the mound. Zero runs after use to scoring in double digits? After being out for minor arm issues, he came back last night and the rest of the Warriors looked like they realized where they were last year. Came out strong! CBA played strong as well, just no hits like they are use to. They'll meet again!

Ok Lake Norman vs Hopewell by the book

a great pitching performance all night long from both the pitchers as there would be only 8 hits for the game. With the score 3-2 late in the game Lake Norman did start a good inning while getting 2 base runners on with 1 out. Hopewell pitcher Hunter Conley executed a trick play to perfection to get the runner from 2nd base out. with 2 strikes on the batter Conley would then throw 1 pitch to sat him down as well to end the inning.(so not much of a jam there). Hopewell did have their fair share of errors as they would have 4. Lake Norman had 3 all errors were in the infield for both teams. Going by the book the Lake Norman pitcher who threw a great game had 7ks. Hunter Conley(2011)grad had 6ks. The Titans bats did produce a couple of extra base hits that made a difference in this game. (3 singles for lake norman). Hunter Conley (2011) coming into this game batting .453 for the season did have a bad night at the plate with the lefty on lefty pitching. To clairfy the batting stat on Conley he was 0-3 as he only had 3 ABs. Hopewell won this game with great Pitching, base running (as they would take 2 bases on past balls) and with some extra base hits while coaching also played a factor as well. The Titans now setting their sights toward winning another conference championship as they will host Moorseville Tuesday.

Couldnt agree more on Hopewell coaching. made some great calls including the fake pickoff to second, i think the LKN runner still doesnt know what happened.

    LKN / Hopewell

    Hey Bigstar,
Glad you felt it necessary to say basically the same thing that baseball11 said. Some baseball minds would call runners at first and second with one out a jam in a 3-2 game, at the time. Dont think there was any "knock" there by saying that, and Hopewell did a great job of getting out of it. So ease up, when others post opinions that dont match yours. It was a great game played by both team for the most part. :blahblah1:

    josh frederick

He is a great pitcher. Alot of Division I schools should off picked him up. I knew he was good when he pitched against the canes last fall and beat them 3-2. The only kid that him him was Adron Hollowell 2 hits ( aycock ) and Parks Jordan 1 hit (glenn). He struck out around 14 other canes. Some of the canes that are going to play college ball struck out two, three, and even four times against Frederick. This shows you how good he is. Aycock has a great team, they crushed NC State signee Jernigan.
Just shows you how good Freddy is.

Hey Lknbaseballfan im going to bet and say that you were not even at the game. (bigfan). Reading your latest post. Did i say that Hunter Conley was 0-4 (wrong)? Did i say that the LN pitcher had 10 Ks or did i say 7? Did i say that keith Prowse and Kyle Himler had a hit or did i say they both had extra base hits? both made a difference in the outcome of the game.(bats were not shut down). Did i say that Hopewell had 4 hits or did i say 5? Take nothing from the Lake Norman baseball team they are a quality team. Tyler Lewis is one of the best pitchers i have seen this year. I have total respect for this kid and look to see him play D-1 baseball next year. This is a forum that a ton of people read so we try and post facts rather than opinions. Does that sound like the same thing that baseballlover11 said?

Is there any team that gets more run on this message board than Hopewell? Seems like many love 'em and many don't. Reminds me of those polls where they ask who do you respect the most and least and George Bush or Bill Clinton or whoever is President at the time wins both categories at the same time.

SW4A teams are followed and reported here, but nobody can hijack a thread like Hopewell followers (pro & con). Recently, the East Meck Easter tournament thread got hijacked into a Hopewell debate until someone pleaded to get back on subject.

Prowess? Yeah, they've lost two games by the grand total of two runs. I think they're overrated.

    CBA

Josh Frederick had an excellent game. What has been lost in all the hoopla is that Eric DuBois had a good game as well. It was a very hard fought game with Eastern Wayne the recipient of three gifts (in the form of hit batsmen) in the bottom of the sixth.
To imply that Charles B. Aycock's success is due to a weaker non conference schedule or that they can't hit good pitching, is wishful thinking. Ask Tate Parrish (Smithfield Selma/UNC commit) or Logan Jernigan (South Johnston/NC State commit).
