Mooresville vs North Score

Great game by both teams! North broke it open in the 5th. North hit the ball sparatically early in the game leaving runners on base in the first. Mooresville was held in check most of the night the big hitter for MHS was Brittany Sims who seemed to be the only batter for the Blue Devils that could hit Sarah Allen of North. North ends up winning the game 5 - 0 and clinches atleast a tie for 1st place of the I-MECK CHAMPIONSHIP. Big games on friday with Lake Norman and Mooresville going head to head and North and Hopewell banging it out. If North wins they will be in sole possession of the I-MECK TITLE and thier 2nd title in two years.

 

This was a good game (scoreless until the top of the 6th)
North Meck scored 4 runs with 2 outs in the 6th (scored 1 run eariler in the 6th). Mooresville had 2 errors that allowed several runs to score. Should have been out of the inning with only one run scored.
North's Sarah Allen pitched a good game and gave up only 3 hits. She moves the ball really well.

Margaret Whitestone pitcher for MHS has done a great job this year--her primary position is centerfield but she stepped up for her team to pitch.

 

I was shocked we only scored 6 the first time around. The AC girls can flat out hit. The only pitcher in the conference we seem to have trouble with is Wakefield and she throws it slower than any of the others from Foard, SC and Hibriten. We seem to have a little more trouble hitting the slower pitches with movement than we do the faster pitches, even with movement on them.

 

I wasn't at the game but didn"t the Foard pitcher have 8 walks. You take away the 8 walks and how close would the game be. I know I always taught my pitchers that every walk is usually a run.

As far as Wakefield goes she doesn"t mow you over but she is one of the best at spotting a pitch to get pop-ups, ground balls, or strike-outs + she gets good movement on her pitches as well.

 

She had 3 or 4 BB with bases loaded!! That was a killer. AC started hitting and kept hitting. Thats why they are the BEST in NC... Hats off to them.

 

Sounds like the Freshman (Lexi) went through a little growing pains. She will learn from it and be a better pitcher. That was a big game for her and your team. AC is a good team and should be in Raleigh again.

 

Your right!! She was mowing them down for the 1st 4 innings giving up No hits then the wheels fell off. This game will only make her stronger.. She is a Main Reason for us being 15-3 and can't wait until the State Playoffs Begin....
