NG is $5 per person. I believe it is the same all around the conference/county. baseball and softball are seperate (SP is the same)

some places huss, ashbrook, forestview and east gaston the fields are connected so there is one charge for both.

Currently we pay $6.00 admission to get into our games. Some of the schools have charged $4.00 for students, but most are straight $6.00 per person. I will be honest, if our athletic program was getting the full price, or at least a good part of it, I would pay $10 to watch my DD play. We have had some great games this year. The problem is that there is no school spirit. In this economy, the kids are not coming out. The community is not coming out. When you look in our stands, there is nothing but parents and a few grandparents. Most of them don't mind the price to see their kids play, but want to know that the program is getting something out of it.

My DD plays on a field that is run by the city, ie its part of the parks and rec. department. Our HS is one of the finest schools in NC. Its 81 years old. It sits on some very expensive land. There is no way a softball field would be built on that land. Hell, it took 50 years for the $ folks to build a football stadium.
2 things, 1 is that the city sucks at managing the field, it has little if any work like dragging the infield and we're lucky to get those idiots to line the field.
As for charging a fee, nope, we can't. We can however ask for donations to the program. In 6 years, I've never seen the first dollar collected.

I don't complain about paying at any game when it involves our kids period.

....well East buddy, I'm sittin' on the fence on this gig. One side leans me towards no fee and hope that many kids would come to see games. Also, those kids are the very ones that will be at the summer camps which brings in way more money than $5 bucks a head.
As for charging a fee, well if NCSU or Campbell, or UNC or UNCW put 9 all-americans on the field someday, then maybe the $5 bucks might be appropriate.
The Eagles, you know, the band Glen Frey, etc. are charging up to $300 for good seats for their upcoming concert.
Point is, if you provide a marketable product then folks will be willing to pay.
As for HS, TB and for that matter college softball, charging at the gate is a joke.
Last, I'll be the first guy in line with my $5 bucks regardless of what I think.

    Eagles

Met Glen Frey back in 1979 in Hartford, Conn, had drinks together in the Sheraton downtown by the old arena after watching a Whalers game. Heck of a nice guy, we spoke again by phone a few weeks later when he was passing through Charlotte. Great talent and humble given all his success! I love the Eagles but not $300 a ticket, love fades unless the Fishman lets me borrow a buck or 3! Sorry charging for playoff game is OK as long as we can keep the kids playing. Forget conference tourneys!

.....at NCSU and UNC I've seen lots of students at the games. At UVA the mascot is there, the pep band was playing at a tennis gig, so yes, there is a following. For a big part of the students, many are other sport athletes, supporting the teams.
