    This was a huge pitchers dual. Johnston carried a perfect game into the 5th inning before giving up a lead off single to San Fillipio. She then retired the next 3 batters to get out of the inning. In the seventh she gave up a lead off single, retired the second batter, gave up her only walk of the game, and retired the next two batters. Johnston struck out 9, gave up two hits, and a walk.

    San Fillipio gave up a lead off walk to start the game and then was nearly perfect until two outs in the 6th, when she gave up a single to Tessa McGeary and a walk to Johnston, before getting out of the inning. In the bottom of the 7th, Laney's 1st baseman Heather Shaw lead of the inning and got down in the count. With 2 strikes on her, she hit a long homerun to deep centerfield to win the game. This was the first homerun hit by Laney in regular season play this year. Laney now stands a 7-0 in the Mideastern 4A Conference.

    I got to brag a bit. After kinda a rocky start, we wind up tonight, Co-Champs in the Northwest Conf. 1A/2A with East Surry.
    Both teams finish the regular season 13-1 splitting with each other.
    I am so proud of the way my kids have come together this year
    Way to go Wildcats!
    Congrats to the East Surry Cardinals!
    and to the South Stokes Sauras (who gave us all we wanted tonight). They wind up 3rd overall and the 2A #2 seed from our conf.

    You are correct it was the 6th and you are also correct that MHS had two errors that kept the inning going. Both pitchers had great control through out the game. If North wins tonight and MHS loses they can meet up Tuesday in the tournament. MHS and LKN should be a great game! If Margaret pitches like she did on Tuesday it could be who ever makes the first mistake loses that game.

    What field and what time is the Mooresville vs Lake Norman game? I don't know where Mooresville plays their home games!

    They are playing at Mooresville Middle school on Kistler Farm rd at 5:30
