    Way to fight Titans

Congrats to the Hopewell Titans, confrence champs of the Best confrence in N.C . This team played well all season and stuck toghter til the end. Great win tonight over N.meck to steal the deal. After watching the last meeting between Mooresville and Hopewell ,you would have thought the Blue devils just won the state championship.Alot of celebration by the Devils was premature. Blue devils played hopewell great and beat them both times they faced each other.Thats great for you.In this confrence you cant celebrate to soon. You have to play EVERY game like its your last. Little picture, Devil sweepTitans. Big picture Titans confrence champs.Forget about this five way tie. Lesson to be learned never count your chickens before they hatch. With all that being said 2nd place is not that bad. Good luck Blue Devils and the rest of the teams in the confrence for the playoffs.Great job to all the seniors and good luck at the next level.

It was a good game for the Titans and a perfect night for baseball. Also want to say the Vikings are a class act. Great players and coaching for North. I will give more details on the game just as soon as I get all my facts together. Didnt get a chance to watch the Mooresville game ,Just heard they lost.

    LKN / Mooresville

Tyler Lewis threw 6 complete scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 by the same Mooresville player, 7k's and 2BB.
Taylor Thurber came in the 7th after the lead-off batter for Mooresville lead-off the 7th with a single off Lewis. Next batter bunted over runner for the first out. Next batter grounded out to first, but moved the tying run over to third. The next batter ended the game with a strike-out.
Ian Edmiston was 2-4, while Tyler Lewis, Nick Keith, Brad Chamberlain, Drew McNeil and Taylor Thurber each added one hit.

Mooresville pitcher Wes Dumford pitched a jem as well and definately deserved the win. I believe he gave up 7 hits, 9k's, 1BB, and only 1 run which came in the first inning.
Josh Holcomb had 3 hits for Mooresville and Josh Skidmore had 1.

Good luck to the Blue Devils and all of the remaining I-Meck teams.

Tyler Lewis kept the Mooresville hitters off balance all night. Wes Dumford did the same against the Cats.

It was a game of breaks and we just didn't get any. LN scored their run in the 1st. A double was hit after what sure looked like strike 3, then the P slipped on a sac bunt attempt. 1st and 3rd no outs. LN scored with 2 outs. A couple breaks, run scored.

Mooresvile had 3 or 4 runners reach third and just couldn't get the key hit. A beautiful relay nailed a Mvl runner trying to stretch a single, and later a baserunning gaff left a runner hung up between 2nd and 3rd and was tagged out. Another bad break was a called strike three on a check swing, sure was a debateable call to say the least. Late in the game on a bunt the P tried to tag our runner, the runner dove to the ground, the tag was missed and the throw to 1st was wild. They called the runner out with no explanation. I don't know if they said the tag was applied or he was out of the baseline, but it was obvious he was under the tag and he dove in the dirt of the baseline, so I don't know what the call was.

Reguardless of all the weird occurrences, LN played well and made a 1st inning run count. I have no way to tell how they break the 3 way tie for 2nd, but it will be interesting. North Meck deserves a wild card. They were a few breaks away from 2nd out-right and end up in 5th. This may be the first game I saw this year that there were more K's than hits for both teams. Dumford and Lewis both brought their A games. Taylor Thurber came in relief and we hit him pretty hard, but left another man on third. He finished the game with a big K though.

Congrats to Hopewell for winning the innaugural I-Meck conference championship. They played hard thru some early adversity and overcame it. Best of luck to all I-Meck teams. Would be cool to see an all I-Meck Western final 4.

Much of the celebration was attributed to the numerous remarks made on the field.

I was at the game and the celebration was totally disrespectful and classless. The coache's of Mooresville kept their player's in the Hopewell parking lot for 30 minutes waiting for The Hopewell players to leave. That's asking for trouble. After all is said and done The Titan's got last laugh and are still the king's of the conference. 2nd place is the 1st loser.
